PART I Choose the correct definition for each verb below based on the context.

It’s a good idea to change your watch to the local time at your destination to help

*We use get + adjective to talk about a change in state of something. It means “become”.
Airplanes get really cold. ( = After some time on the airplane, you start to feel cold. There
was a change in the temperature, or it became cold.)
My body got adjusted to the time zone difference. ( = After spending time in the
different time zone, I started to feel adjusted. There was a change in your body, or it
became adjusted.)
* Remember to use the form of get in the correct tense (present simple, present continuous, past
simple present perfect, etc.) depending on the time and context.
*MORE EXAMPLES:
EXERCISE I Write get for each sentence + an adjective that fits the context. Remember to use
the form of get in the correct tense.
1 I got interested in airplanes as a young boy after I flew for the first time.
2 I got thirsty on the flight, so I asked the flight attendant for some water.
3 I think it’s quite easy to get bored on a flight. Always bring something to
entertain yourself.
4 Sometimes people get nervous during a flight. Some wine might calm you down.
5 This airline used to be really bad, but they have gotten better .
7 The passenger next to me spilled water on their lap, so their pants got wet .
9 The space around the 3 young children on the airplane got dirty during the
flight. A lot of time will be spent cleaning it.
11 We are flying to the Bahamas for a wedding. My sister is getting married there.

In the video, you heard an example of another way to use the verb ‘get’...
“Stay hydrated by bringing your own water bottle. You can get the flight attendants
to fill this up for you.”
* We also use the structure have (somebody) do (something) for these cases, except number 3
convincing / persuading somebody to do something. In this case, we always use the verb get.
EXERCISE I Fill in the blanks using the get (smb) to do (smt) structure or have (smb) do (smt)
structure. For some you can use both get or have.
1 The airplane bathroom was out of soap so I got the flight attendant to bring more.
2 I didn’t have time to book the flight so I got the person in charge of the airline to book it for .

3 I spoke to the travel agency and I got them to upgrade us in first
class for the flight.
5 Airlines can often have problems getting passengers to pay extra money
for insurance for the flight.
6 I can never get my daughter quiet on the airplane. She is always afraid
and panicking that something bad will happen.
7 I was alone at the airport with many heavy bags so I got a person to help
me carry everything to the check-in desk.
8 If you ask the pilot nicely, you could probably have him to take a photo
with you.

products, food, fashion, fitness, dating, etc.
See the examples:
Create your own kind of guide together like you saw in the video. Make at least 5 tips
for your vlog. Then present and share your vlog with your partner / teacher.

5 TIPS: 1 Prepare your breakfast with natural meals like oats and fruits.
2 Prepare a really light brunch using a little of salt and olive oil.

PART II Imagine you just had a really long flight. Create a story for the situation.
When we traveled to Cochabamba we got lost, we were on our first trip and nobone knew Cochabamba
before. A poor man scared us so we were frightened a long time there. We could not find a good place to
stay in. We felt really bad and we got back to La Paz as soon as we could.
