- Black Forest Cake - chocolate sponge cake
with cream and cherries
2. Prinzregententorte
- Bavarian torte consisting of at least six,
usually seven thin layers of sponge cake
interlaid with chocolate buttercream and a
topping of apricot jam upon the very last.
The exterior is covered in a dark chocolate
glaze
3. Frankfurter Kranz - Frankfurt Crown Cake -
sponge cake filled with butter cream and
red jam, sprinkled with brittle nuts and
decorated with candied cherries
4. Friesentorte - pie crust and puff pastry,
whipped cream and powidl (plum sauce)
5. Herrentorte - sponge cake alike made of
many layers, filled with wine cream and
covered with dark chocolate.
