messages displayed on the screen.

When Windows XP installation finishes, restore the boot device order to the former setting.
[6] Driver installation procedure after re-installing Windows XP Professional

After installing Windows XP Professional to the Unit, install the various drivers of the Open
CNC. These drivers are stored in the “Open CNC Drivers Disk (A08B-0084-K790)”.
In this section, the procedures for installing the following drivers are described.

1. Ethernet Driver
2. High Speed Serial Bus(HSSB) Driver
3. Touch panel Driver
4. MDI key Driver

Install these drivers in the above order.

Following procedures will show the installation of drivers 1. and 2. Please refer to “[4] Driver
installation for Open CNC system” for other driver’s installation.
As for the installation process, the Administrator privilege is required.

I. Ethernet Driver

1. Driver installation

1. Set the “Open CNC Drivers Disk” onto the CD-ROM drive.
As [FANUC Drivers Disk (D:)] dialog window appears, click [Cancel]
button.
2. Press [start] button, point [My Computer] and then right-click it. Click
[Properties] on the pop up menu.

displayed at [Location] and then click [Next] button.
7. Click [Finish] button.

II. High Speed Serial Bus(HSSB) Driver

The Unit has High Speed Serial Bus (HSSB) Type 2 interface internally. PC part I/O port
address used at the HSSB interface is decided automatically when the driver is installed.
Each CNC which has HSSB interface is given “Node” number and distinguished by node
numbers in Windows. This is based on the design of HSSB multi-connection, i.e. one Unit
connects with multiple CNCs via HSSB, and it is also true for the Unit which has only one
HSSB interface (its node number equals to 0).
In case that the Unit is configured as the HSSB multi-connection using the PCI extension unit,
the Node number is assigned as 0 for the optical socket mounted on the PCB of the Unit, and
then 1, 2, ... for PCI HSSB board according to the order of the PCI slot number.

1. Driver installation

1. Move [Device Manager] window to the front of desktop.

2. Right-click the [PCI Simple Communications Controller] under [Other
devices] and then click [Update Driver...] on the pop up menu.
3. Confirm that “Install the software automatically (Recommended)” is
selected at [Hardware Update Wizard], and then click [Next] button.
4. Wait for a while. Then HSSB driver is read from CD-ROM. Click
[Finish] button.

2. HSSB (Node) Setting

5. Open Control Panel. Click [Other Control Panel Options] at [See

Also].
6. Click [HSSB] icon.
7. Select the node number corresponding to the HSSB interface and click
[Setting...] button.
8. Enter proper name which indicates the machine connected to the HSSB
interface (for example, “FS160 - No.1”, “Milling Machine”) to [Node
Name:] within 19 characters.
9. Select CNC connected to the HSSB interface from the [CNC Type:] list
box.
10. Click [OK] button to close this window.
11. In case of HSSB multi-connection, go back to step 7 and repeat these steps
for each node.
12. Click [Close] button. The dialog box which indicates the modification on
HSSB setting will appear. Click [OK] button to close the dialog box.

In order to take effect of installing drivers, restart the Unit.
