critical artist-teacher-cultural workers who are committed to artistic excellence and
people’s culture that fosters both personal fulfillment and social transformation.

It is the first Asia’s first professional gospel theater group and over its existence has
transformed the gospel message into Fun, Funky yet high quality productions. Trumpets
were established in the late 1980’s when a batch of young Christian performers and
theater professionals got together. In the 1991 the Trumpets was incorporated changing
the face of not only Christian entertainment but the Philippine theater itself.
Description:
It was established in 1976 by Tony Mabesa. Dulaang UP is the country’s premiere
academic theater organization. Originally established as the production arm of UP’s
Speech Communication and Theater arts program.
TEATRO TOMASINO
Desciption:
The foremost and only recognized university-wide theater guild of the University of Santo
Tomas first saw light on the 17th day of September 1977, when 25 students of the
university established the name Teatro Tomasino. Teatro Tomasino has produced of
various personalities such as John “Sweet” Lapus, Erick Salud, Don Cuaresma, Arnold
Clavio, Roxy Liquigan, Jose Victor Torres, Malou Crisologo, even the late Wenn
Deramas and still continues to produce various media and theater practitioners equipped
with the discipline and knowledge of a Thespian.
TANGHALANG ATENEO
Description:
It was founded in 1972, and is given formal recognition in 1979, Tanghalang Ateneo has
its repetoir of plays in the World classics, Filipino original, and documentary texts turned
into theater pieces. Its productions are noted for their thought, generosity and energy,
while its lingua franca on stage is Filipino and English.
