I. Using the diagram as reference, write a description of a mechanism. Follow the correct
format. (10 points)

In the most basic form, a cell phone is essentially a two-way radio, consisting of a radio transmitter and a
radio receiver. When you chat with your friend on your cell phone, your phone converts your voice into
an electrical signal, which is then transmitted via radio waves to the nearest cell tower. The network of
cell towers then relays the radio wave to your friend’s cell phone, which converts it to an electrical signal
and then back to sound again. In the basic form, a cell phone works just like a walkie-talkie. In additional
to the basic function of voice calls, most modern cell phones come with additional functions such as web
surfing, taking pictures, playing games, sending text messages and playing music. More sophisticated
smart phones can perform similar functions of a portable computer. Mobile phones are divided into two
major parts: the (a) front part which consist of light sensor, notification light, earpiece,
proximity/gesture sensor, front camera, power button, touch screen, home button, menu button,
microphone, back button and multipurpose pack and (b) back part which consists of IrLED, GPS antenna,
rear camera, back cover, microphone for speaker phone, headset jacket, flash volume button, speaker
and main antenna.

Front part

The front part of mobile phones consists of light sensor, notification light, earpiece, proximity/gesture
sensor, front camera, power button, touch screen, home button, menu button, microphone, back button
and multipurpose pack.

Light sensor
 It is a photodetector that is used to sense the amount of ambient light present, and
appropriately dim the device's screen to match it. This avoids having the screen be too bright when the
user's pupils are adapted for vision in a dark room, or too dim when the device is used outdoors in the
daytime. Dimming the screen on a mobile device also prolongs the lifetime of the battery.

Notification light

The notification light on your Android phone can give much information about your phone. You
can find out about an important notification or know if the battery is low, without even touching your
phone.

Earpiece

Earpiece or Speaker in a mobile cell phone is an electronic component or part that helps to
listen to sound during phone call. It is also called Speaker or Ear Speaker.

V8 Sound Card
Get rid of the shitty sound and turn it up by using V8 Sound Card. The V8 sound
card is a device which can be slotted into a computer to allow the use of audio components
for multimedia applications. V8 Sound card is made of high-quality all-aluminum material
with slim and lightweight design. It is basically square in shape and in color black. It has a

adjustment, bass adjustment, recording volume adjustment, monitor volume , electro, pitch
bend, magic, shock-wave, mc, dodge, cheer, embarrass, gun, despise, debut, kiss, laugh,
clap, pay attention, kiss, songs 1 and songs 2, and (b) the side part, consists of line 1, line 2,
accompany instrument, charging, earphone speaker, headset, condenser mic and dynamic
mic.

Front Part

The front part of the V8 sound card consists of the switch, microphone volume, reverb volume,
treble adjustment, bass adjustment, recording volume, music adjustable, monitor volume, electro, pitch
bend, magic, shock-wave, MC, dodge, cheer, embarrass, gun, despise, debut, kiss, laugh, clap, pay
attention and Songs 1 and 2.

Switch. The switch turns the V8 Sound Card on and off. It is located at the upper right part of the
body of V8 Sound Card. The switch is of circle silver metal, designed to be activated with a thumb of the
hand holding the sound card. When the switch is hold for three seconds the sound card will turn on.
 Microphone volume. The microphone volume is circular in shape and with the same size with
reverb volume. It is located at the upper left part of the body of the V8 Sound Card. This is designed to
adjust the loudness of the microphone connected to the V8 Sound Card.

Reverb Volume. The reverb volume is circular in shape and with the same size with microphone
volume. These two are the largest among the rest, it is located at the upper right of the body of the V8
Sound card, near the switch. This is design to reverb off back to the original sound.

Treble adjustment. The treble adjustment is circular in shape but much smaller to the
microphone volume and reverb volume. It is located below the microphone volume. This is use for
refining tweaking the higher-pitched sounds coming from the speaker, such as the vocals, keyboards,
horns, etc. These higher pitched sounds are usually heard through the tweeter.

Bass adjustment. The bass adjustment is circular in shape, the same size with the treble
adjustment. It is located next to treble adjustment. This is use to increases or decreases the lower
frequencies and higher frequencies of your audio independently.

Recording volume. The recording volume is circular in shape, the same size with the treble and
bass adjustment. It is located next to bass adjustment. This is use to controls the loudness while
recording after it has passed through the electronics.

Music adjustable. The music adjustable is circular in shape, the same size with the treble
adjustment, bass adjustment and recording volume. It is located next to recoding volume. This is use to
adjust the volume of the live stream.

Monitor volume. The monitor volume is circular in shape, the same size with the treble
adjustment, bass adjustment, recording volume and music adjustable. It is located next to music
adjustable. It is use in real-time listening.

Electro. Electro is a small rectangular button in color red. It is located at the middle right part of
the front body of V8 sound card. It is use to change the voice of the user by using an electronic musical
instruments and digital instruments.

Pitch bend. Pitch bend is a small rectangular button in color red. It is located next to electro. It
is use to change the users voice to male voice and child-like voice by pressing the button.
 Magic. The magic button is a small rectangular in shape. It is red in color and located next to
pitch bend. It is use to change the user’s voice into to a man with a very low tone.

Shock-Wave. Shock-wave is a small rectangular red button located next to magic. It is use to add
an echo to the voice of the user. It looks like the user is in a large hall.

MC. MC is a small rectangular red button located next to shock-wave. It has almost the same
function to shock-wave which is to add an echo to the user’s voice. The only difference is that shock-
wave add more echo than mc.

Dodge. Dodge is a small rectangular red button located next to mc. It is use if the user is live
while having a background music. It minimizes the background music so that the viewer can better
understand what the user is saying.

Cheer. Cheer is a small rectangular black button located at the lower left part of the front body
of V8 sound card. It is use to add a sound effect of people clapping.

Embarrass. Embarrass is a small rectangular black button located next to cheer. It is a sound of a
crow, use when the user said something embarrassing.

Gun. Gun is a small rectangular black button located next to embarrass. It is a sound of guns
shooting.

Despise. Despise is a small rectangular black button located next to gun. It is a sound of people
shouting “booo!”. This sound effect is use to show hate on something.

Debut. Debut is a small rectangular black button located next to despise. It is a music where
operator’s normally use for their introduction.

Kiss. Kiss is a small rectangular black button located next to debut. It is a sound of people kissing.

Laugh. Laugh is a small rectangular black button located next to kiss. It is a sound of people laughing.
This sound effect is normally use when there is something funny.

Clap. Clap is a small rectangular black button located next to laugh. It is a sound of people
clapping. This sound effect is typically use when there is something applaudable.

Pay attention. Pay attention is a small rectangular black button located next to clap. It is a music
normally use for the operator’s background music.
 Songs 1 and 2. Songs 1 and 2 are small rectangular black buttons located next to pay attention.
These are also a music but in a Chinese language that can be use in background music.

The visual structure of a circuit that displays components used in the circuit to show flow of power and
signals between components.

Side Part

the side part, consists of line 1, line 2, accompany instrument, charging, earphone/speaker,
headset, condenser mic and dynamic mic.

Line 1 and 2. Line 1 and 2 are type c ports, where you can connect your mobile phones and
personal computers.

Accompany instrument. Accompany instrument is also a type c port where you can connect
your musical instruments like guitars.

Charging. The charging port is where you can insert the charger to charge the V8 sound card. It
has a battery capacity of 1200mA that you can use for two and half up to seven hours.

Earphone/Speakers. In earphone or speakers port you can insert either an earphone or a

speaker. This is use by to have a surround sound or music.

Headset. Headset is use by the user for him/her to listen carefully to the sound or music he/she
is making.

sound is adjusted to prevent the sound from breaking too loud, and the volume of the microphone can
also be turned down.

V8 sound card is best for musicians or even ordinary people who needs surround music or
sounds. It helps to boost the listening experience by giving the operator a chance to adjust the loudness
of the sound of music that fits their taste and personality. It also adds flavor to an ordinary sound by
using the sound effects.
