"Aratiles" can cure two types of Diabetes.
 Her study was called "Bioactive Component, Antioxidant Activity, and Antidiabetic Properties of
Muntingia calabura Linn. An In Vitro Study"
 She has been recognized by the '2019 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)' that
happened last May 12 to 17 in Phoenix, Arizona, United States and included in the 12 inspiring scientists
that represented the Philippines.
 Maria Isabel had found bioactive compounds like anthocyanin, flavonoid and polyphenol, in aratiles and
says that these components are said to be potentially useful as cure for diabetes.
 DOH has said that Diabetes is the deadliest disease in the country and the reports were still on process
saying that the cases of Diabetes is still increasing with 7.8M Filipinos predicted to become Diabetic in
2030.
 "I studied the Aratiles fruit or Sarisa to address diabetes. The conclusion of this study is that, all of the plant
parts of the Sarisa fruit contains anti-oxidants, which could help because of its anti-diabetic properties." she
quoted.
