Destination Selection Control DSC
Basic idea
DSC-Terminal
o The passenger enters the desired trip
(destination) via an input
terminal outside the elevator.
o The controller calculates which
elevator could take the passenger to
the requested destination the
quickest way.
o That lift is indicated to the passenger.
o There are no command buttons inside
the car.

Advantages over conventional systems:

o The transportation capacity is improved by 15% to 30% due to better


flow of information.

o This means that with two elevators, the same number of people can
be carried as with other systems using three elevators.
