BALANCING BUILT ENVIRONMENT: A HYBRID DESIGN APPROACH

The energy from the exhaust air stream is recovered by using this exhaust energy to
precondition the outdoor air before supplying into the building. The unit provides free cooling
in the summer without adding moisture to the air stream and free heating in the winter without
a heater to preheat cold air stream.

2.5.1. Result of application

 According to Max Paul Deuble, professor of environment and geography, occupants
feel more comfortable in Natural Ventilation rather than AC
 Hybrid ventilation could save 10% - 50% of energy depending upon climate (Jianli
Chen, et al., 2017).
 Such system is best suited in climatic condition like Nepal, where we have more days
of favourable condition.
 Standard for hybrid ventilation is lacking
