HISTORY OF URDANETA CITY FIRE STATION

EMCEE 1:

BFP Urdaneta came to existence during the period of PC-INP on the year of
1972. Sometimes from the year 1972 to November 30, 1994, the office/station
was located beside Urdaneta Municipal Hall, Alexander St., Poblacion,
Urdaneta, Pangasinan.

The enactment of R.A. 6975, also known as DILG Act of 1990 which took effect
on January 01, 1991, paved the way for the establishment of the Philippine
National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Bureau of Jail
Management and Penology (BJMP) as separate entities. Specifically, the Fire
Bureau’s charter was created under Chapter IV (Section 53 to 59) and carried out
through the provisions of Rule VII (Section 49 to 58) of Implementing Rules and
Regulations of the said law.

EMCEE 2:

On October 1993, the new building of Urdaneta City Fire Station was constructed
under the administration of MAYOR RODOLFO E PARAYNO, located beside
the Urdaneta City Cultural and Convention Center, Alexander St., Barangay
Poblacion. The said building was finally occupied by the Bureau of Fire
Protection on December 1, 1994 up to present.

Prior to its cityhood on March 21, 1998, Urdaneta is considered as booming


economic center in Northern Luzon. Dubbed as the “Cattle Market of the
Philippines”, Urdaneta has become a progressive locality, hence, the needs of
improvement on its infrastructure to cope up with the growing demands of public
service.

EMCEE 1:

Today marks a milestone of the long-awaited success of Urdaneta City Fire


Station in coming to fruition its envisioned piecemeal modernization.
