Daily Struggle of Filipino Jeepney Drivers: The consequence of COVID-19

in Calamba City, Laguna

Dear Participant:

The purpose of this study is to (1) identify the existing struggles of Filipino jeepney
drivers and (2) highlight the effects of COVID-19 into these existing issues. The researchers
would like to (3) offer help through publishing this study and (4) informing the public of the
current state of our public transport drivers.

Researchers:

This study is conducted by Psychology majors from Pamantasan ng Cabuyao. Supervised by

Prof. Winnie Altuna, this study will be administered by Ma. Angelica Blessing Agaid, Paula
Marie D. Capili, Jessa Mae M. Dela Cruz, Ellen Jane J. Hacildo, Patricia Anne P. Moro, and
Tiffany Anne O. Santiago.

Participants:

Filipino Jeepney drivers from Calamba City, Laguna, Philippines, can participate in this study.
The individual will be given this information sheet along with a consent form. The individual
will be an official participant of this study once they consent to participating in it.

Participant Involvement:

Participating in this study will include a series of semi-structured interviews that will last for 1
hour up to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Individual interviews will be administered throughout the
study, this includes face-to-face and telecommunications interviews; a group interview can be
administered if it was necessary for the course of the study. If it is necessary, and if you will
permit, the researchers will have a follow-up interview with clarifying questions.

Data:

For the purpose of keeping track and ensuring the validity and accuracy of the data acquired,
with your permission, we will record the audio of the sessions. With your consent, the data
acquired from the interviews will be used in our study, and we guarantee that it will be used
solely for the study. Personal information acquired from these interviews will only be used for
the study with your consent.
Participant withdrawal from the study:

If you wish to withdraw from the study, your decision will be honored and respected by the
researchers.

Para sa mga kalahok sa pananaliksik:

Ang research na ito ay ibinuo para (1) alamin ang mga problema na kinakaharap ng mga
tsuper at para (2) mabigyang ng pansin ang epekto ng COVID-19 sa mga umiiral na problema na
ito. Bilang tulong, ang mga taong pumapaloob at nag-organisa ng research na ito ay sisikapin na
(3) mailathala ang resulta ng papel na ito at (4) maipaalam sa publiko ang estado at epekto ng
COVID-19 sa mga tsuper.

Tagapagsaliksik:

Ang pananaliksik na ito ay binuo ng mga estudyante ng Sikolohiya mula sa Pamantasan ng

Cabuyao. Sa ilalim ng kanilang guro at tagapayo na si Bb. Winnie Altuna, ang pananaliksik na
ito pinangasiwaan nila Ma. Angelica Blessing Agaid, Paula Marie D. Capili, Jessa Mae M. Dela
Cruz, Ellen Jane J. Hacildo, Patricia Anne P. Moro, and Tiffany Anne O. Santiago.

Kalahok sa pananaliksik:

Mga tsuper mula sa syudad ng Calamba, Probinsya ng Laguna, ang maaaring lumahok sa
pananaliksik na ito. And indibidwal na may potensiyal na makasali sa research na ito ay
bibigyan ng nitong information sheet, kasabay ng consent for. Makasasali lamang ang jeepney
driver kapag pormal na niyang pinirmahan ang liham ng pagsang-ayon, ito ay patunay na
pinahihintulutan niya ang sarili na makasali sa pananaliksik na ito.

Paglahok ng mga kalahok sa pananaliksik:

Ang tsuper na pormal nang kalahok ng research na ito ay sasailalim sa interbyu. Ito ay tatagal ng
isa hanggang isa’t kalahating oras. Sasailalim sa interbyu ang bawat isa sa mga tsuper na
kalahok ng pananaliksik at kung kakailanganin, ay magkakaron din ng mga panayam sa
pangkat. Ang mga interbyu na ito ay maaaring gaganapin nang harapan o sa pamamagitan ng
tawag o video conference. Kung kinakailangan, at kung iyong pahihintulutan, magsasagawa ng
follow-up na interbyu ang mga tagapagsaliksik para linawin ang ilang mga katanungan.
Datos:

Ang layunin ng pananaliksik na ito ay maipahayag ang wasto at ganap na datos kung kaya’t ang
bawat interbyu ay itatala sa pamamagitan ng pagkuha ng audio recordings. Kukuhanan lamang
ng rekord ang interbyu kapag pinahintulutan ng tsuper ang mga mananaliksik. Nakakasigurado
na ang audio recordings na ito at ang mga impormasyong nakuha ay gagamitin lamang sa
research.

Pag-atras ng kalahok sa pananaliksik:

Kung ang kalahok ay nagnanais na umatras sa study na ito, siya ay pahihintulutan at ang
desisyon na ito ay gagalangin ng mga researchers.
