Did You Know…

Jenny lived in Powell River and Vancouver. Jenny also lived for a few years with Len and his family before
moving back to Powell River with her sister in late 1960s. Her grandchildren knew Jenny as Nana. Her great
grandchildren called her Nana Ho Ho because she would only visit during the Christmas Holidays. Jane’s father
(Martin) worked in the shipyards in Belfast where they built the Titanic. Jane’s parents (Martin & Isabella &
family) were waitlisted to leave from Liverpool, England on the Titanic, March 1912. However the waitlist did
not clear in time so they missed the boat. Which is a good thing… Jane’s sister, Annie, said she arrived on her
21st birthday. Not sure if this is so. But when they did arrive, they took the train to Vancouver, British Columbia.
