Diary of a Short-Sighted Adolescent( Romanul Adolescentului Miop) by Mircea Eliade

While it might seem like an odd choice, given the book,s age, I truly consider it to be among my favourite
books. The book tells the story of Eliade,s highschool years and it is, more or less, based on what
happend, unlike its sequel, Gaudeamus, which is about his time at university. The novel beautifully
ilustrates how life was at the time. While he wrote the book, Eliade thought it was the first time a novel
about adolescence was written by an actual adolescent.

My time during quarantine

Now that quarantine is no longer law, while we still have be preacaucios, we can go outside and see
friends. This made me think about how I spent my time when I couldn,t. While I did some useful stuff
and red more, I,m not exacly proud of my time management, as most of my time was spent on youtube
and on watching TV series. Only now, when quarantine has ended, have I realised how much of it was
wasted. I think I,m probably going to start doing more and I hope there won,t be a second(or third and
so on) wave, so there,s no need for another quarantine.

Passengers

Passengers is an American science fiction film released in 2016. The plot depicts two people who are
awakened too early from an induced hibernation on a spaceship, transporting thousands of passengers,
travelling to a colony on a planet in a star system 60 light years from Earth. The Avalon, a sleeper ship
transporting 5,000 colonists and 258 crew members in hibernation pods, is on course to the planet
Homestead II, a journey lasting 120 years. Thirty years into the journey, an asteroid collision damages the
ship, resulting in a malfunction that awakens one passenger, mechanical engineer James "Jim" Preston,
90 years too early. After a year with nothing but an android barman named Arthur for company, he
wakes up Aurora Lane from her pod. After some time, they marry, but Arthur reveales the truth. After a
series of events, in which the save the ship from failing and Chief Deck Officer wakes up too( not because
of them), Jim learns that the Autodoc can function as a makeshift hibernation pod for one person. He
can put Aurora back in hibernation for the remainder of the voyage. Realizing that she would never see
Jim again, Aurora chooses to remain awake with Jim, and he presents her with the ring he had made,
which she accepts. Eighty-eight years later, the ship's crew is awakened on schedule, shortly before
arrival at Homestead II. In the ship's grand concourse area they discover a huge tree, lots of trailing vines
and vegetation, birds flying, and a cabin. Aurora's voice-over is reading her story, describing the
wonderful life she and Jim had together on the Avalon.
