Case Study: In a World of Pay (Germany)

The pay rate for professionals with talents and experience is a critical issue in the hiring

process of workers. Anne Prevost is worth the hassle because she is deemed an intelligent and

careful strategist with the potential to completely transform the face of Typware. Anne

demonstrates a deep understanding of the world’s software industry, with a track record in the

ERP software business, marketing creativity, and splendid performance under a tough economic

condition. Since the company’s main strategy is to raise the international revenue by about 10%,

it requires an experienced strategist like Anne Prevost.

The company’s compensation system is a hindrance to the recruitment of Anne Prevost

because there are a lot of imbalances in salaries that raise the question of satisfaction level of the

entire team of employees. Therefore, if I were Anne Prevost, I would not present my demands

and high salary expectations to the company. Instead, I would assess the entire compensation

system of the company and negotiate for a pay that suits my rank amongst the employees. As

much as Anne has the potential to change the face of Typware and enable it to attain a top

position in the industry, requesting a pay within the company’s pay scale would be the

appropriate thing to do.

The most appropriate compensation strategy should be based on job analysis and staffing

assessment systems that recruit employees based on the findings of the analysis, rather than their

overall qualifications. A thorough job analysis would address the job description, recruitment

processes, and compensation attached to respective job openings and salary scale documented by

the company. Therefore, a detailed and extensive job analysis is considered efficient in finding

the potential candidate for any vacant position in the company. Moreover, the compensation for

respective job positions might be restructured to match the duties of the employees, rather than to

compete with other similar positions in the market.
