Dear Sir, REF: REQUEST TO ENGAGE IN A JOINT CSO COALITION IN THE SAVE MURCHISON FALLS CAMPAIGN. Reference is made to the subject above. Greetings from Natural Resource Conservation Network (NRCN). The letter serves to request your organization to be part of a joint Civil Society Organizations (CSO's) Coalition in the save Murchison falls campaign, This is to address the controversial hydropower dam construction at Murchison Falls National Park by Bonang Energy and Power Ltd from South Africa. This move will threaten the ecological and biodiversity importance of wildlife; intrinsically and to both the riparian communities and the Nation at large. This undermines the conservation efforts we as conservationists have labored to protect in Uganda. It is therefore, against this reflection that NRCN pledge to play a significant contribution in helping government to rethink and reverse its decision on Murchison Falls dam construction through the save the Murchison falls campaign. This campaign, seeks to work with leaning civil society organizations (CSO's) operating in Uganda to form a coalition with strong members. The choice of the coalition institutional partners and individuals has considerations of, strong interest to conservation issues, ability to engage and dialogue constructively and capacity to continue engaging stakeholders across on matters of concems to conservation fraternity in Uganda. This will then be followed up with a series of engagements which will be communicated upon your positive response to this cause We highly value your professional input in conservation efforts in Uganda and shall be grateful to have your organization join us in this cause. Kindly confirm with us your participation by 13" March 2020 for Preparations of further activities.
