What All Are You Planning To Do During Your 1st Year Of MBA?

The most important feature of pursuing MBA is that it gives you tons of opportunities to
enhance ones skills and intellect properties. Right from the time we register for the course
we get flooded by several tasks from respective students council or college admin and I think
this is actually lies in our side because IIM is a home to student belonging from diverse
background and these activities help us to connect with each other and help us to know
each other better.

As I took admission in IIM Vishakhapatnam I have my own to-do list like I want to start a new
club which involve knowing your campus city well so that we can explore our city, stargazing
session like IIM Ahmedabad has, in which student can see and enjoy eclipse, planet, and
stars.

Calling eminent celebrity on campus like Bollywood stars, corporate heroes so that student
listen them at their own campus, admire them and have an inspiring effect on them so that
they can also grow like them, motivation is the key to success.

For the summer internship and Placement one should acquire sufficient and diverse
knowledge of the course so I would I like to enroll for online courses which help me to
increase my skills as well as these courses can be shown on resume. Participating and
organising several competition is good source of learning what management is in actual
sense.

Likewise sports are also very important it reduce boredom and stress level, one should be
physically and psychologically fit while in IIM because curriculum is quite hectic also
competing with other college and winning will also have direct impact on college reputation.
So with the help of student council member I would like to introduce games competition
within our campus.

Knowing your peers are very important, our seniors would be a great source of admiration
and learning so I would like to raise an idea of organising party/fest for the seniors and same
from seniors to their juniors like PGP-1s host a party for PGP-2s and then PGP-2s host for
their juniors, this type of interaction is must in order to avoid stress, to get updates from other
batch and networking in management is really important for management students.

Also there are many things which has to be taken care of at personal level for example
language, English is must and India has incredible diverse nature here we can’t be 100%
sure that one know English well also students are coming from far corner of country whose
native language is different so English plays very crucial role and one should be knowing it
already but different people have different backgrounds. I am also coming from small town
with ok-ok English and hesitate while speaking so I would try to learn it by interacting with
other also it will help me to overcome my hesitation.

There are lot more than this I wish to do and I will try but I have to take care of my studies
and projects also. Pursuing MBA from IIM is like dream comes true, IIM dreams of many and
home to few.
