Factory Radio Removal


1. Before proceeding, eject disc(s) from factory unit if present.

2. Set parking brake and disconnect negative battery cable to prevent any
electrical short.

3. Pry out around all edges of receiver trimpanel to release retaining clips.
Pull away trimpanel and disconnect airbag harness at top of panel. Set
panel aside (Figures 1-3).

4. Remove four (4) 7mm screws securing factory radio. Pull out radio,
disconnect and remove (Figure 4).

OEM Integration
R
This page addresses integrating aftermarket accessories such as CD Changers, Auxiliary Input Adaptors, iPod Adaptors, etc.,
with a factory radio system.

Before proceeding, check the manual of the OEM integration device. The device may connect at another location, making radio
removal unnecessary. If the device connects at the rear of the radio, continue with the following steps.

1. Remove factory radio following instructions on the previous page.

2. Follow instructions supplied with the accessory device.

3. Connect optional adaptor to input as shown.

4. IMPORTANT: Reconnect all wiring harnesses including airbag, then reconnect battery. Test operation of the adaptor and
reassemble dash by reversing disassembly steps.

• Check to make sure the Crutchfield receiver wiring
Receiver Installation adaptor plugs into the vehicle receiver harness.
If the Crutchfield adaptor is incorrect, please call our

A Standard DIN unit is shown. A Double-DIN


receiver may also be installed following these
same steps.

1. Secure receiver to mounting bracket


following instructions for your particular
style receiver supplied with the dash kit.
Note: This installation shows pocket
mounting bracket with DIN sleeve.

2. Make wiring connections following


instructions supplied with the receiver wiring
adaptor received from Crutchfield.

3. Hold receiver assembly near dash. Connect


receiver wiring adaptor to vehicle harness.
Plug antenna lead into rear of receiver.

4. Slide assembly into dash and secure with


screws previously removed.

5. IMPORTANT: Reconnect all wiring


harnesses including airbag, then reconnect
battery. Test operation and reassemble dash
by reversing disassembly steps.

1. Pry out edges of speaker grille to release


clips. Remove grille (Figures 1 & 2).

2. Remove four (4) 7/32” screws securing
speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect and
remove (Figure 3).

3. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of


replacement speaker to vehicle speaker
harness. Secure speaker with screws
previously removed.

4. Test speaker operation and reinstall grille.

1. Remove one (1) 1/4” screw from bottom of door panel (Figure 1).

2. Pry around all edges of door panel to release clips. Remove panel FIGURE 2 FIGURE 3

3. Remove four (4) 1/4” screws securing speaker. Pull out speaker,
disconnect and remove (Figure 3).

4. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of replacement speaker to vehicle


speaker harness. Secure speaker with screws previously
removed.

5. Test speaker operation and reinstall door panel by reversing


removal steps.

1. Pry out narrow window trim on rear of door.


Remove one (1) exposed 6mm screw
(Figures 1 & 2). FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2
2. Pry out wide window trim to release four (4)
retaining clips and remove (Figure 3). Remove
one (1) exposed 6mm screw (Figure 4). Narrow Window Trim

3. Pry out screw cover on door release handle.


Remove two (2) 6mm screws and remove
handle (Figures 5 & 6).

4. Remove one (1) 6mm screw from

5. Pry up power switch panel and Power Switch Panel


disconnect to remove (Figure 8).
Remove one (1) 10mm screw exposed
by removal of switch (Figure 9).

6. Lift door panel to remove (Figure 10).

7. Remove four (4) 7/32” screws securing


speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect
and remove (Figure 11).

8. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of


replacement speaker to vehicle speaker
harness. Secure speaker with screws
previously removed.

9. Test speaker operation and reinstall

disconnect wiring harnesses and remove
(Figure 3). Remove one (1) exposed
10mm screw (Figure 4).

4. Remove two (2) 1/4” screws from bottom

5. Pry out screw cover behind door release
handle. Remove two (2) exposed 8mm FIGURE 6 FIGURE 7

6. Lift door panel, disconnect door release


cable and remove panel (Figures 8 & 9). Screw Cover
7. Remove four (4) 5.5mm screws securing
speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect and
remove (Figure 10).

8. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of


replacement speaker to vehicle speaker
harness. Secure speaker with screws
previously removed.

9. Test speaker operation and reinstall door


panel by reversing removal steps.

1. Fold up rear seat.

2. Remove two (2) 10mm bolts from left side

subwoofer enclosure bracket (Figure 1).

3. Remove one (1) 10mm bolt from right side


subwoofer enclosure bracket (Figure 2).

4. Roll enclosure over and disconnect harness


to remove from vehicle (Figure 3).

5. Remove eight (8) Torx T20 screws securing


subwoofer. Pull out speaker, disconnect and
remove (Figure 4). Subwoofer Enclosure Bracket
6. Connect speaker wiring and secure new
speaker with screws previously removed. Subwoofer Enclosure Bracket

7. Test speaker operation and reinstall


enclosure by reversing removal steps.

Wire Splicing Guide These methods can be used to make wiring connections if no receiver or speaker wiring adaptor is available.
Wire color information (if available) can be found on the next page.

Factory harness is removed. Save New speaker wires are spliced into
CRIMP METHOD harness if it is to be reconnected in
the future by this method.

Wire Splicing Guide NOTE: In most cases a speaker wiring adaptor is available from Crutchfield and splicing will
not be necessary. If no adaptor is available, use this chart as a guide to match and splice wires.
