To check if you have understood the process in engineered water purification system,
differentiate it from natural purification system in not more than six sentences. Discuss also
why it was said engineered purification system is based on natural purification.

In the self-purification of water bodies, processes such as heat transfer and gas
transfer occur naturally. The self-purification system is nature's way to clean water bodies.
Whereas, engineered purification system uses engineered materials such as gravity
settling tanks, chemicals, and other equipment to clean the water intended for different
purposes. The engineered purification system is based on the natural purification system
because, first, sedimentation principles were applied in the engineered system.
Moreover, the filtration happening naturally through pebbles or rock along stream beds
was also applied in the engineered system through the use of sand filters.
