Congratulations! You are all winners at this point as part of only 2% of the over two-thousand
applicants who were judged worthy of being “XTC Finalists”.
We present here the schedule and process for the remaining portion of your engagement and
competition in Extreme Tech Challenge 2020.
A separate document will be sent which covers our public-facing marketing and communications
regarding XTC and your selection as a Finalist.

1. Agreement form returned by Monday, June 1
Review and Agree to the Finalist Admission Form by Monday, June 1
Your selection as Finalist will NOT BE MADE PUBLIC UNTIL FRIDAY JUNE 5 (see #4 below).
We ask that you EMBARGO news of your selection until June 5, per the agreement in the
Admission Form
2. Communications Guidelines and Assets sent Monday, June 1
We will send out more detailed communications guidelines and assets to you. The big
announcement of your Finalist selection and Global Finals will be made on Friday, June 5 with
social media flow in the following week. If you want graphics, images, or other media assets
included, please send them to us by Wednesday, June 3.
3. Orientation Meeting, Wednesday, June 3
All Finalists are required to attend one of our orientation meetings on Wednesday, June 3
when we will review all of these items in more detail.

4. Announcement, Friday, June 5
On June 5, XTC will issue media releases announcing each of you as XTC FINALISTS. You will be
included on the XTC website finalist page and cited in subsequent social media posts.
In the Communications Guidance to be sent Monday, June 1, we will provide more detail on media
assets and tips on how to leverage our publicity and your publicity to benefit your business.

6. Finalist Pitches
Following this 7 day Bootcamp, each of the 52 finalists will make a final pitch before the XTC
Evaluation Committee (judging committee for each category to be announced).
They will select 1 winner for each of our 7 categories and also the Female Founder Award and
COVID-19 Innovation.

EVALUATION CRITERIA: Judging in these final rounds will be based on the same criteria as throughout XTC:
1. Impact on the applicable Tech for Good category
2. Potential for success within the applicable market for the Entrant’s product or service
3. The level of innovation of the product or service
4. The ability of the team to execute

The 7 Category Winners, the Female Founder Award Winner, and COVID-19 Innovation Winner
will proceed to the Global Finals on Wednesday, July 1. These startups will pitch the final
judges in hopes to be selected as the XTC 2020 Global Winner.
Preparation for the Global Finals:
● Note carefully that you have to SHORTEN your pitch for the Global Finals
● This pitch should be no more than 3 MINUTES end-to-end, with no exceptions.
This will be followed by 4 MINUTES of Q&A
