processes. Chemical engineers apply the principles of chemistry,
biology, physics, and math to solve problems that involve the
production or use of chemicals, fuel, drugs, food, and many other
products.

- There are routes into this career for both graduates and school
leavers. Graduates will need a degree in a relevant subject such as
chemical engineering, biochemical engineering or mechanical
engineering. Some employers will ask for a 2.1 degree but others
will accept candidates with a 2.2 degree. A postgraduate
qualification can be beneficial, and may be necessary

experience a broad range of mathematical topics, while gaining a
depth of expertise in certain areas. The BS Mathematics curriculum
emphasizes computing and mathematical modeling because these
two areas give our students a competitive advantage when
beginning their careers.
- The BS in Math requires a series of courses that emphasize
computing and acquaint students with widely used software
packages such as Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) and MATLAB.
Mathematics students often minor in fields related to math, such as
computer science, economics and finance. By doing this, students
become stronger applicants in the job market or when applying to
graduate programs.
