After watching the video about the historical background and context of Rizal

Law or Republic Act 1425, I find it necessary to still study the life and works of Rizal,
especially at this generation since most people are not that interested in Philippine’s
history. Rizal is one of the Filipinos who fought for our freedom from the hands of
Spaniards through his knowledge and writings. He showed us the real meaning of
nationalism and helped us to be aware of the fact that we cannot let ourselves be the
slaves of richer countries. The RA 1425 states that every public and private school,
collages, and universities should include courses about the life and works of Jose
Rizal, particularly his novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, in their curricula.
Why? Because this will serve as an eye-opener to us. It does not only help us to
remember the Philippines in the past, but it also give us a reason. A reason to serve
the country and instil nationalism to the Filipino Youth, because we, the youths, are
the Nation’s future, we are the weapon to empower everyone through spreading the
works of Rizal which conveys the reality. Truly, it help us strengthen the foundation
of values and principles we already have with the intervention of Rizal's worthwhile
life lessons together with his boldness and courage. His writings make us reflect our
inner sense of patriotism to become the hope of the country.
