I liked this novel, which I cannot even call roman, because in fact it is a

journal that covers the life of the author from high school to college.
I have heard that this book is suitable for high school students,
teenagers, and more. But I think, at times, Eliade's style is very
philosophical and difficult to understand, which makes reading more
difficult. It didn't necessarily bother me, but maybe some teens are
upset about this.
Childhood is a moment of life, among the most important, which I think
should be lived to the fullest. Like this, adolescence is a period full of
changes, of self-discovery, in which we analyze our personality and
compare it with others, because we think that everyone is better than
us, that only boys who did not defect to the outside clings to the girls.
The short story of the myopic adolescent tells us about the moments
when we all go through adolescence, about the first love, the timidity
that kills us all, because most of the time we do not react or act
because of it.
Mircea Eliade was, as a teenager, a child steeped in books, hidden in
her attic, listening to the drops of rain. When he was dating girls in his
high school, he was worried that he was wearing glasses, that he was
short-sighted, that girls might not like boys with glasses.
Finally, I recommend this book to teens and not only, to find
themselves, to realize that we are all the same in this period, that
something connects us, at least one thing resembles us, and that is ...
first love.
