Important Guidelines to all Candidates

All the qualified candidates for GD (wherever applicable) and PI are requested to note the
following:

(a) Change of dates: Request for change in dates for GD and PI are normally not
entertained unless the GD/PI dates in TISS clash with the students’ final year
examination. No change will be considered for any other reasons. In such case the
students should send the details of their university examination along with a
request letter addressed to admissions@tiss.edu. However, the revised dates will
be within the announced dates for GD & PI. The revised dates will be
communicated to the candidate through e-mail. Only one change may be
entertained.
(b) The GD/PI process will get over on the same day by 7.00 p.m. and candidates are
requested to book their return journey for trains/buses which will depart after 7.00
pm. Request for change in order of candidates under the pretext of train/bus
departure timing will not be allowed.
(c) Email will be sent to all candidates informing their exact date and probable time
slot of GD/PI in a week’s time. Candidates can also check their time slots with
the TISS CARE helpline on or after Monday, 14th February. Candidates are
requested to report 30 minutes prior to their time slot. Candidates desiring to have
food in Dining Hall should buy lunch coupons from Dining Hall around 11.30 a.m.
Parents are requested to wait in the lounge till their wards complete the interview
process. Seating arrangements for parents will be made in the main lounge. All
candidates will have to send a Detailed Application Form (DAF) for their
respective programme by 22nd February, along with the date sheet to Academic
Section, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Deonar, Mumbai 400 088, superscribing
on the envelope “DAF for ------- programme through SPEED POST or
REGISTERED POST only. All are also requested to bring a copy of the DAF
with them so that the same can be used in case the DAF is not available at the time
of interview.
(d) The Detailed Application Form (DAF) is available for downloading on your
result sheet available in the Institute’s website..
(e) If a candidate has qualified in the written test for more than one programme, s/he
needs to fill up the Detailed Application Forms sent along with date sheet or
download them for each programme and send them separately to the Institute.
(f) A list of hotels/lodges located in and around TISS will be displayed in the website
by next week. Candidates can contact them directly and book their
accommodation on their own. Institute will not be responsible for any financial
losses due to cancellation of booking or for any other reasons.
(g) Shortlisted candidates belonging to OBC (NC) category who have NOT sent their
non-creamy layer certificate will not be allowed to participate in the GD PI process
if they are unable to send their non-creamy layer certificate along with their DAF.
They will be allowed as general candidates in case they qualify for GD PI process
under general category.
(h) Reimbursement of TA for SC/ST candidates will be given by the SC/ST Cell of
the Institute on production of original journey tickets. The form for
reimbursement will be given to the candidate on the day of GD/PI.
(i) Hostel accommodation for Differently Abled candidates: Hostel accommodations
will not be available for any candidate other than the Differently Abled candidates.
They are requested to send a mail to muskaan@tiss.edu with details of their stay,
arrival and departure timings etc.
