A Greek proverbs goes, “You will

break the bow if you always keep it
bent”. Bows are used by the an-
cient people to be their defense on
harmful creatures and also their
means of getting food to eat. And

most of the day, the bows are bent for them to

use. But if they will not use it anymore, they will un-
tie the string from the end of the bow and let it
rest. Because continuous bent of a wood produc-
es tension and may result to the breakage of the
part of the wood where the stress is mostly experi-
enced. That’s why it needs rest every now and
then. Same with people, they need to release from
the tension of work so that they will not be worn-
out in life. We need to “untie the strings” and let
ourselves relax. Many times people focused more
on what to do on the job than what to do outside
their job. The key to having a satisfying rest day is
to plan it out. The word rest according to the dic-
tionary means it is the freedom from activity or la-
bor. Some people define rest as a state in one’s
person life where there’s no strict following of
schedule, rules, obligation or responsibilities. It is the
day free of compulsion. So how can we spend

they notice that the time during weekdays is kind of slow
but when weekend comes, there’s an instant race be-
tween the two hands of the clock and just so excited to
see Monday. It’s like nothing happened during their rest
days. That’s why when it’s time to go back again to work,
they feel demotivated and despaired.

Japan is a place where you can

It is inspiring to see how people

old people doing sprint or play-

the same age like us. No wonder
why they are in no rush in pro-

cause they value their health like

Metropolitan
I was able to go and visit the center of Japan. As ex-
pected, life is much faster and much busier in the metro-
politan area. Inside our head, we have this image of how
weird the Japanese are, how much they are into anime
and how different their fashion can be. However, as excit-
ing it is to see and to experience, those are false assump-
tions. Japanese people pretty much live like a normal per-
son with just an advanced environment. All they do is
actually work and provide for their families. Just like a
typical teenager, they explore and get to be adventurous
at a younger age but by the time they find that life is not
as simple where you can just go YOLO, they grew up and
go with the usual flow.

Life in the metropolitan is a lot more exciting and tempt-

ing. Lots of spending to do. Shops are everywhere-each
has their own way of advertising their goods. Lots of
pinks, screens, sales and sparkles. Museums are never
boring because displays are designed to be interactive.

The highlights of Tokyo of course are the robots. It is

amazing how much work and time was invested for it to
be human-like. Things
like that can be a bit “ Japan is a mixture of old and new.

Language barrier is a
common problem for foreigners here in Japan. Finding
your way can be a bit of a puzzle. As much as you want
to read the signs, you can immediately feel hopeless. You
may be familiar with some hiragana and katakana but you
can never get away with the kanji words. You will always
have an itch to ask a Japanese person ”Where am I?” in
English. If they don’t understand you, you try to talk to
them in Japanese like “koko wa doko desu ka” which is a
very bad idea because they will respond to you in Japa-
nese. So might as well stop being a wanna-be, and just
use your Google translate instead and show it to them for
better communication. Or better yet, plan ahead to make
sure you will not be lost in your travel.

Traveling to different sides of Japan is not much of a has-

sle if it weren't for the language barrier. Japan boasts an
extensive and highly efficient transportation system. If
you can’t afford a train ride, you can opt for a plane ride.
If you can’t afford to stay for one night in a hotel, you
can choose a night bus ride or even you try riding a ferry.
There are many traveling options to choose from if you
are planning to go to Japan. It does not matter which
place you will stay as long as you are close to transporta-
tion stops, you can easily arrive to your destination. 9 Communique February 2019
Japan is a mixture of old and new.
They keep their tradition as much
as they can despite its ability to
create an out of this world tech-
nology. People here still do some
things the old fashion way. For
example, they try to draw in paper
instead of AutoCad. They still sell
CD players, fax machines and old
fashion radios and computers.
Classic Japanese style houses still
exist.

In the end, I can say that Japan is a country of balance and order.

A place where people are undoubtedly kind and thankful.

A place where food tells a story.

A place you want to experience because of its rich culture.

A place that has become a part of me.

deployment of new HP Printers.

As you have noticed, we have been busy replacing our old HP printers
these past few weeks. Printers are being replaced because the Service
contract has already been expired.

With the new printers, there are a lot of benefits under its sleeves. But
before that, let me point out our experiences first with current setup:

1. Availability of printer is restricted to the area where the user be-

longs.
2. You cannot undo what you print.
3. Anyone can pick or peek your printed documents.
4. When printer is under maintenance, another installation is needed.

Now, with new setup, here are the cool things that it can offer. 3. Printer will release your printed documents.

1. Print anywhere.
2. Eliminate unnecessary printouts.
3. Securely queue print jobs until you choose to release them. Docu-
ments only print in your presence.
4. Multiple HP printers, one driver installation.

Here is an overview on how it works

1. Select a file from your PC and click print.

By the way, this is just a heads up. Although the

printers we have deployed comes with proximity
sensor, this feature is not enable yet. We will up-
date you once the system is 100% working and
ready for activation.
