Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan
In Grade 5 Music

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
a. Define Tempo based on the given examples
b. Give importance on Tempo through beats and movements
c. Demonstrate slow and fast tempo through imitating animals’ and people’s movements

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Materials: Visual Aids, Tarpapel, Music

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparatory Activity
- Opening Prayer
- Seating Arrangement
- Greetings
- Attendance

B. Review
- So for now, who can recall our previous lesson and what was it all about?
- What is Timbre?
C. Motivation
- Everyone will sing and dance to the Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
- Video Presentation

D. Presentation
- Ask the students about their experience while singing and dancing the Twinkle,
Twinkle Little Star
- Ask someone about their observation with the video presentation
- Ask the students to guess the topic according to what they did
- Reveal the topic

E. Lesson Proper
- Discuss what is Tempo.
- Explain the meaning of Tempo
- Give examples on slow and fast tempo and explain on how it affects a song

F. Application
- The students will identify the tempo of the following GIF’s or videos of different
figures
 Dinosaur  Cat
 Turtle  Dancing Man and
 Bird Woman
 Dog  Talking kids
 Running Tiger

G. Generalization
- Tempo is the speed of the song and it can either be slow or fast just like how a
snail crawls and it can be fast just how the horse runs.
IV. EVALUATION
- Students will be grouped into four
- Students will imitate animal’s and people’s movements
- Identify what tempo they are imitating or using

V. ASSIGNMENT
- Choose one nursery rhymes and sing it with fast and slow tempo in front of class.
