By making this learning contract, I commit to complete and to

excel the subject by attending online meetings and submitting
assigned school works.

I expect to amplify my knowledge in management and leadership.

The activities and assignments are expected to equip us with the
necessary materials and information about engineering management
and related topics.

Learning is the acquisition of knowledge or skills through

experience, study, or by being taught. One cannot learn without
being open to new ideas and allowing to absorb the new knowledge
being imparted by the teacher/ educator. Sacrifices on the
student’s part should be paid attention to in order to fully
acquire what’s being taught.

a. Attendance: I will attend 100% of the class sessions

given that the circumstances will not hinder my desire to
learn (i.e.: stability of internet connection and
financial means).

b. Course Participation: I will contribute actively in class

discussions, polls and inquiries

c. Readings: I will complete all assigned readings and use

them during online class discussions for an interactive
session.

d. Study/Assignments: I will spend a minimum of 2 hours per

day reviewing notes and working on assignments. This will
help me enrich my knowledge about the subject and
participate better in class discussion.

e. Group Work/ Group Project: I will communicate well with

my co-classmates or group mates so that there will an
exchange of ideas for the completion of work.
What will MOTIVATE me to attain my gains?

1. Self-discipline ―Self-discipline is about leaning into

resistance. Taking action in spite of how you feel.
Living life by design, not by default. But most
importantly, it’s acting in accordance with your thoughts
—not your feelings.‖

2. My drive to make my parents proud.

3. My drive to graduate this semester and top the

Environmental and Sanitary Engineering Board exam.

4. My hunger for learning.

What will PREVENT me from attaining my gains?

There are a few things right now that might hinder not just my
capacity but every student’s capacity to not reach our gains.

1. Anxiety: We all fear the unknown especially during this

Pandemic era, we feel scared for our parents who are
trying to earn just to sustain our education and basic
needs.

2. Gadget: Like me, a lot of students only depend on one

gadget to survive this semester (e.g. cellular phones).
This will hinder us from doing homework that requires a
laptop or a desktop to accomplish and comply with the
requirement.

3. Stable Internet Connection: I personally use mobile data

for my internet usage because our family cannot afford
WiFi connection specially now during the Pandemic.
Stability of internet connection through mobile data is
fluctuating and cannot be foreseen beforehand.

I, as a student, will do my best to persevere and excel in this

subject, ENGG411 – Engineering Management. I am looking forward
for a fruitful semester with you, Engr. Florimond M. Esteban.
