What’s the
science?
Shadows occur when an object blocks the
path of light rays. The amount of light that
is blocked depends on whether the object is
solid or transparent (see-through). Solid
objects cast the strongest shadows because
most of the light rays are reflected back from
the object’s surface, creating a dark shadow.
Transparent items, such as glass bottles, let
almost all the light through. They still cast a
blurry shadow, mainly around the edges of
the object.
Special effects
Hand shadows against a wall
are great, but why not use
your whole body to create
some really strange shadow
effects? You could even base
a story around your
shadow photos.
