1. PURPOSE:
This document describes the methodology for the installation method of ACSR conductor, and to ensure that all concerned persons are familiar with the sequence of
activities, utilization of resources, and execution of the works in compliance with applicable safety and quality procedures, reference documents and specification.

2. SCOPE:
This method statement identifies the general steps, arrangements and precautions required for execution of all the major stringing activities in 220KV/400KV
switchyard using ACSR Conductor for Stringing & installation work.

Stringing is the activity which will be commenced after tower erection. This activity involves installation of phase conductors in all the spans (between towers) in a
section, installation of insulator strings and conductor / earth wire fittings, with the help of machines and other stringing tools.

Emergency Preparedness.
Follow emergency response plan & preparedness in case of emergency
Despite of all processes and fall arrest systems in place due to manual error or ill health of
person the possibility of person falling and arrested by safety harness cannot be ruled out.
Hence it is imperative to have a rescue plan in place before the work commences.
Thus we Introduced KARAM, PN 652 Rescue Kit for fulfilling the Rescue Operations If a
worker falls and is suspended by a full body safety harness,
Training to designated crew of Concerned Contractor earmarked to perform the work has
been given. This training includes on the job demonstration by working at height safety
expert
Contents of this training focuses on use of PN 652 rescue kit and its practical use. The crew
has been demonstrated how to use the equipment while they conduct the rescue operation.
Apart from this process, cherry picker will be available at site for emergency rescue if
emergency takes place.
