Join Meetings
Join a Cisco Webex Meeting
You can join a meeting from an email invitation, mobile device, video conferencing
system or in many other ways.

Join a Meeting

There are multiple ways to join a meeting. If you are having difficulties joining a meeting,

you can troubleshoot the issues that you are facing. For more information, see Cisco

Webex Help.

If you are unable to make it to your meeting, you can contact the meeting host, or ask if a
recording is going to be available.

Join from Email Invitation

1. Select the join link in your email invitation.

Your email invitation appears in one of the following formats, depending on how the
meeting host schedules your meeting.

Scheduled from Webex site

Scheduled from Microsoft Outlook

2. On the Meeting Information page, enter the required information. Select Join. You can
also select the Join by browser link to join using the Cisco Webex web app.

Join from a Webex Site

From the Home page of the Webex site where the meeting is hosted, enter the 9-digit meeting

number in the text box and select the Join meeting button.

You can find the 9-digit meeting number in your email invitation.

Join from Your Webex Meetings Desktop App (WBS33 Latest)

Below the Join a Meeting heading, you can enter a Personal Room ID for the room that you want
to join. After you enter the Personal Room ID in the text box, you can select the Join

meeting button.

You can find the host's Personal Room host ID in the Personal Room link. For example,
if the Personal Room link is organizationname.webex.com/meet/jparker, the host's
Personal Room ID is jparker.

You can also select the Join button at the top of the Cisco Webex Meetings panel when you've
been invited to a meeting. The join button appears up to 15 minutes before a scheduled meeting,
depending on your meeting notifications preferences.

You can select one of the profile pictures in Recent Personal Rooms list to join a
recently joined Personal Room. If you want to see other rooms that you have recently joined, you

can select the More icon.

If you’ve already connected to a video device, you join the meeting automatically on that device
when you click Join.

This feature is only available for Cisco Webex Control Hub-managed sites or for Cisco
Webex Site Administration-managed sites that are linked to Control Hub. Contact your
site administrator to find out where your site is managed.

Join from Your Webex Meetings Desktop App (WBS33.6)

1. Open your Cisco Webex Meetings desktop app.

2. Do one of the following:

• Select the Join button at the top of the Cisco Webex Meetings app.

The join button appears 15 minutes before your scheduled meetings.

• Enter a Personal Room ID in the text box below the Join a Meeting heading and

click the Join meeting button.

You can find the host's Personal Room host ID in the Personal Room link. For example,
if the Personal Room link is organizationname.webex.com/meet/jparker, the host’s
Personal Room ID is jparker.

• Select one of the profile pictures in the Recent Personal Rooms list or

click the More icon to see more rooms that you've recently joined.

3. Enter the meeting password, if necessary, and click Join.

Join a Personal Room Meetings from a Webex Sites

1. From the Home page of the Webex site where the meeting is hosted, enter the host's

Personal Room ID in the text box and select the Join meeting button.

You can find the host's Personal Room host ID in the Personal Room URL. For example,
if the Personal Room URL is organizationname.webex.com/meet/jparker, the host’s
Personal Room host ID is jparker.

2. On the Personal Room Information page, select Join Meeting.

Join from a Video Conferencing System

Join from a Video Conferencing Application

You can start your meeting using a video application such as Cisco Jabber Video.

1. Open your app and do one of the following:

• Dial the meeting video address.

• Dial the IP address listed in the meeting invitation.

IP dialing is not available for FedRAMP authorized WebEx


offerings.

2. Select Start, Call, or the appropriate control for starting a video call.

3. Follow the prompts.

Join from Your Mobile Device

Before you begin

Before you connect to a meeting from your mobile device, you must install the Cisco Webex
Meetings application. You can select a meeting link from other apps like Cisco Webex Teams,
Google Hangouts, WeChat, Skype, Slack to open the Webex Meetingsapp. If you already installed
the Webex Meetings app on your mobile device, it opens automatically. Otherwise, the installation
page opens.

1. Open the Webex Meetings app on your mobile device and tap Join Meeting.

2. Enter the 9-digit Meeting Number from the email invite or enter the URL of the Personal
Room in the text box. Then enter your name and email address.

3. In the top right corner of your screen, tap Join.

4. Tap the icon to connect your audio. Select from one of the following options:

• Call Me—Enter your phone number in the text box, and then in the top left corner
of the screen, tap Call. You receive a call and may be prompted to press 1 to
connect.
• Call In—Dial one of the phone numbers shown on your screen. When prompted,
use your phone keypad to enter the access code, and the Attendee ID shown on
your screen.
• Call Over Internet—Choose this option to connect to audio using VoIP.
• Call My Video System—Enter your video system address, if it's not already
there. Then tap Call in the top left corner of the screen.

5. To mute or unmute yourself at any time, select the microphone icon.

Use Your Cisco Webex Site in Modern View
You can now use your Webex site in Modern View. In Modern View, you can see all
your Webex site controls in one place.

Modern View

You can use your Webex site in Modern View to access your most commonly used site

controls directly from a new dashboard. You can easily start Webex Personal Room

meetings, join upcoming meetings, events, and training sessions, and schedule new

meetings.

In Modern View, the dashboard is the home page. You can return to it at any time by
selecting Home on the left navigation bar. Modern View appears by default, but your
administrator can change which view appears on your Webex site.

Modern View has regular monthly updates, adding new and existing Webex site capabilities from
Classic View to Modern View. This article is updated with the newly available capabilities with
each release. For more information, see Cisco Webex Modern View Support Matrix.

My Personal Room

From the My Personal Room tile, you can select Start Meeting to start a meeting in your
Personal Room. For more information, see Start a Cisco Webex Personal Room Meeting in
Modern View. Before you start a meeting, you can configure your settings to join meetings in the
way that works best for you. For more information, see Choose How You Join Webex Meetings
from Modern View.

You can select More ways to join to see other ways to join a meeting in your Personal Room,
including how to join by phone or from a video device.

You can select Copy in the upper right corner of the More ways to join view to copy this
information to paste it into an email or conversation.

Join a Meeting

From the Join a Meeting tile, you can enter the number or Personal Room ID for the meeting,
event, training session or room that you want to join. After you enter the meeting, event, or
training session number or Personal Room ID in the text box, you can select the Join

meeting button.

You can then choose how you join your meeting by selecting the downward arrow on the right
side of the Join Meeting button. For more information, see Choose How You Join Webex
Meetings from Modern View.

You can find the host's Personal Room host ID in the Personal Room link. For
example, if the Personal Room link is company.webex.com/meet/jparker, the
Personal Room ID is jparker.

Below the text box, you can select one of the profile pictures in the Recent Personal
Rooms list to enter a room you've recently joined.

You can also customize your Recent Personal Rooms list by pinning the most important
Personal Rooms to your list. To pin a Personal Room, place your mouse over the profile picture

that you want to pin in place, and select the pin icon that appears over the
profile picture.

Schedule a Meeting

From the Schedule a Meeting tile, you can start scheduling and inviting people to a meeting.

Select Schedule a Meeting to go to the scheduling page and enter your meeting and
attendee information. Then, select the date, time, and duration of your meeting.

At the bottom of the page, select Start to start your meeting right away or Schedule to schedule
your meeting for later. For more information, see Schedule a Cisco Webex Meeting in Modern
View.

Upcoming Meetings

From the Upcoming Meetings tile, you can see up to two upcoming meetings, events, or training
sessions. If you're the host, you can select Start whenever you're ready to start your meeting.

If you have more than 2 upcoming meetings, events, or training sessions, you can select View
all meetings in the lower left corner of the tile to see your meetings list.

You can also select Meetings on the left navigation bar to see the meetings, events, and training
sessions that you have scheduled within a specified range of dates.

Edit Profile

You can edit your profile on the Webex site by selecting your name in the top of the left
navigation bar. On the My Webex Profile page, you can select Edit My Profile to edit your first
name, last name, and your profile picture.

On the Edit My Webex Profile page, select Edit to edit your email address or your password.

Recording

You can access your recordings by selecting Recordings from the left navigation bar. On the My
Recorded Meetings page, you can see all the recordings for Webex meetings, events, and
training sessions that you've hosted.

For each recording, the following information is provided: the name, security settings, the date
and time of the recording, its file size, and the format of the file.

From the My Recorded Meetings page, you can:

• Play or Download a Cisco Webex Meeting, Event, or Training Recording

• Edit Information About a Cisco Webex Meeting, Event, or Training Recording

• Share a Link to a Cisco Webex Meeting, Event, or Training Recording

• Delete or Restore a Cisco Webex Meeting, Event, or Training Recording

Choose How You Join Webex Meetings from Modern
View
When you use your Cisco Webex site in Modern View, you can join your meetings in
the way that works best for you.

Choose How You Join

When you use your Webex site in Modern View, you can choose how you join your meetings.
You have the flexibility to join your meetings with the web app, desktop app, or you can allow
your Webex site to intelligently choose for you.

This feature is only available for Windows and Mac users.

Configure Your Settings


1. From the My Personal Room tile, Personal Room page, or Meeting Information page,
select the downward arrow on the right side of the Start Meeting or Join Meeting
button.

2. In the drop-down list, choose from the following:

• Always choose best option for me–(Recommended) Allow your Webex site to
intelligently choose between the desktop app and web app to join your meetings
quickly. This option will join through the desktop app if you already have it installed.
If you don’t have the desktop app installed, the meeting type, operating system,
and browser will determine which app is used.
• Always start from desktop app or Always join from desktop app–Join your
meetings from your desktop app. If the Webex desktop app is not installed already,
an automatic download begins.
• Always start from web app or Always join from web app–Join your meetings
from your browser, without any installations or plugins. For more information about
the web app, see Cisco Webex Web App.

Your selection is saved in your browser for the next meeting that you join.

Known Limitations
The following are the known limitations for choosing how you join your Webex Meetings from
Modern View:

• The Always choose best option for me setting is only available for Windows and Mac
users.

• Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Chromium on
Linux are supported by the web app. Other browsers are not compatible.

• The default setting for how you join your Webex Meetings from Modern View is set by your
site administrator.

• The web app doesn't support meetings with end-to-end encryption.

• The web app doesn't support meetings that use legacy VoIP.
