6 MODELLING OF CENTRE FUSELAGE STRUCTURE MEMBERS

AIM: - To model the Centre fuselage structural members.

COMMANDS USED:
1. Extruded Boss/Base
2. Extruded Cut
3. Reference Geometry > Plane
4. Extrude Cut
5. Circular Pattern

PROCEDURE: -
1. Select front plane and sketch the profile for the bulkhead with the inner and outer radius of
70mm and 80mm.
2. Extrude the bulkhead profile with a thickness of 6mm.
3. To create a new plane with an offset distance of 50mm, select front plane-reference
geometry-offset-50mm.
4. Select the new plane created and sketch the profile for frame with the inner and outer
radius of 70mm and 80mm, extrude to thickness of 3mm.
5. Using the mentioned procedure create in total 3 bulkheads and 6 frames each at a distance
of 50mm.
6. Create holes on all the frames using the Extrude Cut-Through all feature. Sketch the holes
of 3mm radius and extrude cut through all.
7. Sketch the profile for the Stringer- Z section, with a thickness of 1.25mm, extrude through
all. (Figure. 1)
8. Create a pattern of stringers across the circumference of the bulkheads and frames using
the feature – Circular Pattern-12 stringers.
