VM Environment Requirements - Software
• Oracle VirtualBox 4.3.x or later
– Software supplied by the instructor
– You may also download Oracle VirtualBox from
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-
storage/virtualbox/downloads/index.html
• Unzip utility such as 7-zip or Winzip
• Windows 7 64-bit OS, or a 64-bit OS listed on
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-
storage/virtualbox/downloads/index.html

VM Environment Requirements - Hardware
• Memory: 16 GB of RAM
– 6 GB allocated to each VM
• Hard Disk
– Minimum 200 GB of free disk space
– 20 GB additional if saving the supplied Lab VM image on local disk
• VT-x or AMD-v enabled in BIOS

Lab Environment Setup Overview
• Install VirtualBox
• Copy VM Image
• Import VMs in VirtualBox
• Startup the VM Images
• Login as grid/welcome1
• Startup Cluster
