RETINETI:
- Pentru PREZENTUL CONTINUU se foloseste intotdeauna auxiliarul BE – AM/IS/ARE urmat de V-ing.
- La INTEROGATIV auxiliarul va fi scris INTOTDEAUNA INAINTEA SUBIECTULUI.
- La NEGATIV nu se pune niciodata negatia NOT, intotdeauna se pune auxiliarul cu formele sale de negativ, respectiv:

GRESELI FRECVENTE:
I running now. (Eu alergand acum.) – in loc de – I am running now. (Eu alerg acum.)

REGULI DE SCRIERE A TERMINATIILOR:

Verbele care se termina in -e (cu exceptia verbelor care se termina in -ee si -ie) pierd litera - e si adauga – ing:
hope – hoping; ride – riding; make – making; write - writing
Verbele care se termina in -ee adauga -ing:
agree – agreeing; flee – fleeing; see - seeing
Verbele care se termina in -ie schimba grupul -ie in – y si adauga – ing:
die – dying; tie – tying; lie - lying
Verbele care se termina in o vocala si o consoana (cu exceptia w, x, si y) si care se pronunta intr-o singura silaba dubleaza consoana si adauga – ing:
jog – jogging; sit – sitting; run – running; stop - stopping

UTILIZARE:
- Actiuni care au loc in momentul vorbirii:
The baby is sleeping at the moment. – Bebelusul doarme in acest moment.
- Situatii temporare:
Ann is working in London this weekend. – Ana lucreaza in Londra weekend-ul acesta.
- Situatii schimbatoare:
The wind is getting stronger si stronger. – Vantul devine tot mai puternic.
- Aranjamente pentru viitor/Planuri peersonale de viitor:
I'm seeing Ann tonday. - Ma intalnesc cu Ana astazi.
- Actiuni repetate cu always, constantly, continually, etc., care sunt :eranjate pentru vorbitor:
He is always asking interesting questions. (Here “always” means “constantly”) – El intotdeauna pune intrebari interesante.
