TRAINING AND PLACEMENT

GENERAL INSTRUCTION
 All students are responsible to stay in touch with the Training & Placement Team and routinely
check your registered email Id for details and updates regarding Placement matters.
 Keep your resume and profile updated and submit it with TPO Team (soft copy). We recommend
not making frequent updates and thoroughly going through a resume before submitting.
 Students are advised to keep sufficient copies of resume, passport size photos ready so as to submit
it as per the requirement of the company.
 Formally inform any disability which may affect the placement and for which you are seeking
additional support during the placement.
 Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality regarding any placement information if advised by
TPO team.
 Keep your documents, mark sheets, certificates available with you at the time of the placement
process.
 We suggest keeping a scanned copy of your important documents in your mail/drive in case of an
emergency.

PLACEMENT GUIDELINES
 Keep a record of organizations and positions for which you apply. Make sure you learn about a
visiting company from internet, seniors and other sources before deciding to register for the
company.
 Pay attention to the company-specific instructions sent to you on the mail by TPO team. Adhere to
the specific format of attachments as asked for.
 Students shall not, at the time of the interview, negotiate with the employer about salary and terms
different from what is announced earlier, unless the announcement specifies that the salary is
negotiable.
 Students must keep their Identity Card with them at the time of PPT/Test/Group discussion/
Interviews, and produce the same when asked by the visiting team, TPO staff or their
representatives.
 While attending interviews, students must be punctual and come in formal dress only.
 Never take a cell phone into an interview room.
 Stay present at the venue until you have completed attending all the rounds of the interview or gave
consent to the particular company.
 Keeping the company’s convenience in view, selection processes may take place in the Institute
Campus or any other venue decided by the Company. The students may be required to travel and
attend the same.

PLACEMENT POLICY & RULES


 It is compulsory for every student who has applied for a particular company, to attend the selection
rounds of that company. Once the selection procedure has started, students cannot withdraw at any
stage. It is presumed that students would apply for a position after careful consideration of all the
relevant aspects.
 Students who are placed in a company, with a particular package, will be permitted to further
participate in placement drives only for those companies that are providing double package and
above.
 Placed students will be permitted to attend placement drives in other companies regardless of the
amount of package and domain of the company, only when 80% of students are placed.
 If any candidate is blacklisted/black dotted from the Training & Placement Cell, then he/she will not
be allowed to participate in any of the placement drives unless permitted by the Prof-in-Charge T&P
or Faculty-in-Charge T&P.

Remark: The policy is subjected to change for special cases at a later stage at the discretion of the
Training & Placement Team in consultation with the Prof-in-Charge T&P and Faculty-in-Charge T&P. The
changes made, if any, at a later stage will be notified to all concerned.

Shortlisting
Companies may do a short listing of students themselves on the basis of information supplied by the
students in their registration profile or CVs/ Resumes.
In case a company insists on shortlisting to be done by the Institute without explicitly citing any
criteria, it will be done on the basis of criteria determined by Prof-in-Charge T&P or Faculty-in-charge
T&P.

Withdrawal
Only in very exceptional circumstances, with the permission of Faculty-in-Charge T&P followed by
Prof-in-Charge T&P, a student who is registered shall be permitted to withdraw from the selection
procedure of attending an interview at any stage (Subject to permission)

BLACKLISTED/BLACK DOTTED
Blacklisted: Debarment from training and placement activities.
Black dotted: Deduction of TPO points and debarment/ hold off participation in training and
placement activities.
The student will be blacklisted/ black dotted if:
 Any kind of misbehavior/complaints reported by the company officials/ T&P Staff or
Representative.
 If the student submits his/her willingness to participate in any on-campus placement
recruitment drive and thereby fails to present himself/herself on the day of the selection
without prior permission from Faculty-in-charge T&P.

DRESS CODE
Male Students
 Males should wear a well-tailored Shirt/Trouser/Suit.
 The shirt needs to be a long-sleeve and button-down, preferably in a solid color such as white or any
light shade.
 The trouser should be formal and preferably dark in color. Wearing of Jeans, Chinos is highly
discouraged.
 The shoe needs to be formal and well-polished.
 A tie is recommended.
 Always wear a belt to complete your formal look.
 Be well groomed; beards and other facial hair should be neatly trimmed.
 Avoid wearing too much perfume/cologne.
Female Students
 Females should wear a well-tailored Shirt/Trouser/Skirt/Suit/Ethnic Formal.
 Prefer light, solid colors for Shirt/ Ethnic Formal.
 The trouser should be formal and preferably dark in color. Wearing of Jeans, Chinos is highly
discouraged.
 A cotton dupatta is mandatory with an ethnic suit.
 Wear low to medium-heeled shoes. Avoid wearing open toe shoes.
 Keep hair nice and neatly pinned or tied.
 Prefer natural looking makeup and only a conservative amount of jewelry.
 Avoid wearing too much perfume/cologne.

GENERAL REMARKS
 The role of the TPO Team is of a facilitator for placement related activities. TPO Team does NOT
guarantee a job. Applying for a company or joining a company is entirely the responsibility/decision
of the student concerned.
 It is not mandatory for a candidate who willingly decides not to participate in any placement drive
to attend the drive; however, the T&P Team will not take any responsibility for it.
 These guidelines are framed to ensure equality and fairness of opportunity to all the students
following “One Person One Placement” policy. All students who opt for placement through the TPO
shall abide by the guidelines.
