every month. This will allow some

Gala Evening with Moraga
Rotary
Our virtual “Evening with Moraga
Rotary” to be held on March 6 is
beginning to take shape. The gala
includes a salmon/filet takeout
dinner as well as a virtual event
streamed live into our guests’
homes.
The event will highlight both past
and present Moraga Rotary
activities, provide some great
entertainment and ask for
donations to support our club. The
event will be hosted by Dan Ashley
from ABC News.
If you would like to make sure that
event publicity goes out to your
friends and family, send a name
and email address to Frank May at
mayfrl@comcast.net and they will
be added to our list to send event
information.

The mystery box or bag contest will
be back next week with a brand-
new prize!!
~~PROGRAM~~
Our speaker today, Hayes
Englehart is a long time Rotarian
and our current Assistant District
Governor. He was introduced by
Debbie Roessler.
Hayes love with the automobile
began at an early age. He talked
about his grandfather’s Ford
dealership back in Indiana. He
listed all the motorcycles he has
owned which included an early
Honda 50, a Harley Davidson, a
Triumph Bonneville, and a Honda
touring bike. It was evident that
Hayes loves to both work on, and
more importantly drive, his cars,
motorcycles, and boats.

The Thunderbird
Hayes showed us pictures of some
of the cars that he has owned
including a 68 Mustang, a 1928
Ford Model A, his current 66 Ford
Thunderbird, an MGB and a
Corvette. He also currently owns a
Jaguar F Type.
He then showed us a picture of a
1953 MG TC that he only owned
for 4 weeks due to the small size of
this little sports car. He talked
about the 1963 electric VW that he
worked with his Rotary Club to
raffle as a fundraiser, a neat little
car that really runs well.

Hayes enjoys cars with his family
and friends. He talked about an
outing he had with his daughter last
year where they put the top down
on the T-Bird and crossed all the
major bridges in the bay area in a
single day. He mentioned a day at
the racetrack with his Rotarian
friend, George Chaffey.
Hayes mentioned the work done
with Lou Roessler on rebuilding
the engine in his Thunderbird. He
showed some very exotic cars from
the 1930’s illustrating the car as an
art form. Hayes reviewed his plan
to drive Route 66 in the very near
future. He also commented on the
future of electric cars going
forward. Thanks, Hayes for a very
enjoyable program.

Join Moraga Rotary for take-out Ravioli dinner on Thursday, January 28!

Dinner is provided by Amoroma and can be picked up at a designated time

selected when you order online.

Each meal includes a salad of organic mixed baby lettuce, cherry tomatoes,
extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette on the side, homemade vegetarian
ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta with fresh tomato sauce, a dessert, and
Semifreddi's bread.

The cost per meal is $35 ($25 for food, $10

donation). Orders $70 and over include one
free bottle of wine (must be 21+ years of age to pick-
up). Your donation will go towards local projects,
including our current school safety activity, that
support Moraga’s youth while also helping support a
local restaurant. We will not be able to accommodate
refunds.
