Yokohama A460B tire

Overview
As part of the Advan series of high-performance summer models, the Yokohama A460B
produces the most efficiency in cornering and at high speeds, providing not only safety and
comfort but also driving pleasure. The balanced operational properties of this model are
guaranteed by the use of several technologies in its design, which under a certain set of
circumstances reinforce and complement each other's actions.

Benefits
Increased stability at high speed

One example of this technology is the design of the central part of the tread and the roller
located directly below it. The double continuous tread rib located exactly in the middle of the
tire is resistant highly to deformation. This provides increased stability at high speed, and also -
quick and accurate reactions to steering wheel turn, and also reduces rolling resistance and
prevents uneven wear. As for the breaker, it is distinguished by a multilayer construction made
entirely of the synthetic cord. As a result, a very rigid and light "backing" is located directly
under the tread, which significantly increases the stability of the grip when driving at high
speed. At the same time, its low weight reduces rolling resistance.

Increased Resistance to Hydroplaning

The tread drainage system of this model implements several functions at once.

The main one, of course, is the removal of a water contact patch. She copes with this more than
successfully, thanks to the significant internal volume of the drainage grooves, as well as their
increased number. Only in the central zone of the tread are five longitudinal grooves. As for the
"side" functions, they are performed due to the numerous grooves in the even tread ribs and
the multi-step arrangement of the transverse drainage grooves in the shoulder zones of the
tread. This prevents the development of resonant noise and vibration.

Features
- excellent stability and stability of the coupling properties at high-speed thanks to three double
tread ribs in the center of the tread and the rigid structure of the breaker;

- exceptional resistance to hydroplaning is provided by five longitudinal drainage grooves.
