Dubai suspends live entertainment in

hotels and restaurants
Temporary move put in place from January 21
Time Out Editors
January 21, 2021 9:11 AM

Entertainment in hotels and restaurants across Dubai is to be temporarily suspended

from Thursday January 21.

The move means bands, DJs, dancers and live entertainers are not allowed to perform
in hotels and restaurants.

The announcement came in a circular from Dubai Government’s Department of Tourism

and Commerce Marketing (DCTM), advising managers and owners of hotels and
restaurants across Dubai of the change.

In December a circular was issued about “compliance with precautionary measures to

counter pandemic COVID-19”. And the new directive states that this latest news is in
response to “an increase in the number of violations during entertainment activities in
hotels and restaurants”.

No time period has been announced, but it is “until further notice”.
