[Sub: Important Announcement: Seeking Assistance & Co-operation from Block Administration
Regarding Publicity-Awareness Campaign Against Stubble Burning]
Respected Dignitaries,
You might be well aware of the fact that open field burning of leftover stubble after
paddy harvest not only produces harmful chemical gas responsible for air pollution and global warming
but also drastically hampers the fertility status of soil by killing beneficial microbes leading to reduced
crop productivity and thereby lowering down farmer's income.
Considering the circumstances, the undersigned would like to state that in accordance
with the official order received from the end of honourable director & ex-officio secretary (Department of
Agriculture, Government of West Bengal), a publicity-awareness campaign will be organized at block
level during these puja holidays (and also afterwards as or when required) targeting local pandals/
mondops for flex banner hoisting so that the message can reach a maximum number of people and
proper action can be taken in due time.
As the project is a centrally sponsored scheme, the photos along with the programme
details need to be geotagged for future reference and documentation purpose. Surveillance and
monitoring from the local administrative and disciplinary bodies will be required for ensuring
smooth operation of the activity.
