Things to do in Oxford !
Take a walking tour
I was accompanied by a relative who was a student in Oxford University, and also
got to get in one of the colleges and have a look at the classroom as well.
Since I was with someone who knew the place around very well I didn't opt for an
official tour but if you are visiting Oxford for the first time I would suggest you to take
an official tour (the place is a maze).
The benefit of taking a walking tour is an excellent way to get oriented , learn about
some history of the city, as well see some university colleges, of which are many!
You can take an official university and city tour , which is run by the Oxford tourism
Board. Alternatively, you can also take a tour of Oxford which is led by a student of
Oxford, which would be more insightful about the student life here.
Our final stop was at the Divinity School, a stunning building which also doubled up
as the location for the Hogwarts Sanatorium in the HARRY POTTER movies.
Movie buffs will know that Oxford was featured in most of the Harry Potter films .
Plus you can take a specific Harry Potter walking tour if you're interested.
Go Punting
Punting is a typical pastime in Oxford, prime enjoyed when it lasts for a long period of
time. If you do not wish to go punting you can either grab snacks or lunch and sit
beside the river and enjoy your meal, while you can watch the boats pass by.
And also i had to mention this if you choose to go punting you might also find pubs
somewhere on your journey.
Visit the University Colleges
We did visit a number of colleges, they were just stunning.Oxford University is made
Up of thirty eight colleges each of which is independently governed. Oxford contains
examples of every major architectural style in England from the Saxons to the
present day. Some of the colleges do charge an entry fee and opening times do vary
depending on the time of the year and exam schedule.

If you want to stay in Oxford for longer than a day, there are a bunch of options for
accommodation in Oxford to suit the majority of budgets.
There are plenty of options in the city center or a little way outside the city center.
You can check the bookings.com listings for Oxford here to get yourself started.
Well I preferred to drive back to london.
You can also choose to incorporate some other popular destinations on your day trip
but i would suggest you to spend quality time in Oxford, but if you are someone who
wants to explore places quickly you can add Windsor and Stonehenge to your list as
well.
