How will the women be protected?

• By increasing the recruitment of women who provides services to


VAW victims (50% women within the next 5 years)
• By providing temporary shelter to displaced women of armed conflict
• By requiring mandatory human rights and gender-sensitivity training
for all government personnel involved in the protection and defense
of women against gender-based violence
• By ensuring the full participation of women in the planning and
management of relief operations & following international standards
(e.g., Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP)
• By ensuring the establishment of VAW Desk in every Barangay
– The punong barangay shall designate a VAW desk person trained in
gender-sensitive handling of cases, preferably a woman barangay
kagawad or woman barangay tanod.

of the crisis;
– Proactive prevention sexual violence in evacuation centers and
relocation sites
– Active involvement of women in food and water distribution

and household management)
• Give full information and services on the rights to decide
over the number and spacing of children
• Include in barangay trainings the Magna Carta of
Women and the Family Code to eliminate gender bias.
