SUMMARY
> Overview
The content of the matrix for each activity shows the trainings
required to perform the corresponding works in MODEC´s
FPSO, in compliance with Mexican Regulations.
According to Mexican Official Standard (NOM) NOM-030-STPS-
2009, Reference Guide II, Paragraph II.1.2 to II.2.1.4, health
and safety trainings, according to the type of work to be
conducted for the corresponding personnel and occupational
medical examinations shall be provided to new personnel and
all re-entry personnel (no specific name for occupational
medical examinations or trainings) as follows:
Admission: The person responsible for the selection of the
personnel will request the medical service to carry out the
examination, and define a date and time.
In order to carryout adequate medical examinations, the
biological aptitude profiles of the candidates for the specific
job will be established as follows:
a) Production personnel: In order to establish the biological
profile, the following characteristics must be determined:
anthropometrics; physical-functional capacities (visual
acuity, auditory capacity, cardiopulmonary capacity);
psychological and personality capacities; communicable
diseases; drug addictions, among others. Relevant
laboratory and cabinet studies, among others: blood
biometry; general urine test; coproparasitoscopic; blood
glucose; chest and lumbar spine radiography.
b) Administrative staff: Biological profile: anthropometrics;
physical-functional capacities (visual acuity, hearing,
cardiopulmonary capacity); psychological and personality;
communicable diseases; drug addiction, among others.

blood biometry; general urine test; coproparasitoscopic;
cardiac profile; blood chemistry; chest x-ray, and
electrocardiogram.
c) Other: Study profile will be developed based on the
specific position.

01 General Guidelines
> Trainings
A - Training on Use, Storage and Preservation of PPE – This
training should be in compliance with the guidelines of NOM-
017-STPS-2008. These trainings can be provided by MODEC
and its duration may vary depending of the work to be
conducted.
B - Training of MODEC and/or Client Requirement- Applicable
to all service providers offshore. Additional Guidelines in the
next page item 02 this document.

C - Basic Offshore Safety Training (RMOU) – A training course
that meets the provisions of items 5.3 to 5.5 and tables 5.5.1
to 5.5.6 of IMO Resolution A. 1079 (28). The basic offshore
safety training is mandatory in Mexico, in compliance with the
International Maritime Organization (IMO) through the
International Convention on Standards of Training,
Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW). Mexico
is signatory of the SCTW according to the Regulation of the
Law on Maritime Navigation and Commerce, Art. 10,
Paragraph XII: Certificate of Special Competence is the
document that certifies the competency level achieved by the

Merchant Marine Personnel, according to the training and
scope of competence, required by the STCW Convention, with
minimum workload of 16 hours, and be carried out before the
worker starts his/her activities. This training should be
updated every five (5) years.

assistants, administrative personnel, kitchen staff, contractors,
industrial safety personnel and any person who conducts
