1. What are your thoughts about areas that the machine is winning against the previous best
winners of Jeopardy?

- The machine thinks twice faster than the humans, but there’s still a chance that they
might give unrelatable answers.

2. Some answers given by IBM Watson are not totally related to the questions. May you cite
one example and share your idea why it can happen?

- Answers like “what is Chic” was not related to the questions given to the Jeopardy players.
The reason this happened because of the number of letterings hinted from the question.

3. The questions are being passed to IBM watson via text file and being processed by the
machine. What are the possible confusions that a machine can interpret when information is
in the form of text?

- Possible confusions such as misspelled text will affect the interpretation of a machine.

4. Given the capabilities shown by IBM Watson in this game, what are the possible areas or
industries thay may benefit from this machine and why?

- IBM Watson can affect healthcare, because not all of us are familiar with the diseases so it
will help us identify symptoms and treatments. Also, it uses vision recognition for x-rays and
MRI’s to help doctors read scans.
