General Technical Specifications Gautam Budh Nagar, UP

Fire Module for Basement Parking Ventilation Fans

1.00 Scope: Supply, erection, testing and commissioning & carrying out performance test at site to
these specifications and in accordance with the requirements of drawings and schedule of
quantities.
2.00 General: These specifications are to be read in conjunction with the drawings and schedule of
quantities enclosed.
3.00 Requirements:
3.01 CO Levels shall typically be maintained with in 25 ppm (29 mg/cum), with peak levels not exceeding 115
ppm (137 mg/cum). NOx Levels shall typically be maintained with in 1 ppm.
3.02 All other contaminants of the vehicle exhaust get eliminated with CO2, the levels of which shall typically be
maintained with in 1300 ppm.
4.00 Fire Module:
4.01 Fire Module shall consist of CO Sensor, CO2 Sensor (Optional - As Specified in the BOQ) integrated with a
Advanced Application Specific Controller to affect the energy savings by controlling the ventilation rates &
maintaining the required levels of the contaminants. It shall be complete with Digital Display for indicating
the levels of CO & CO2.
4.02 The controller shall be programmable type & factory programmed to meet the client's requirements and for
the conditions given in the operation logic enclosed. The controller shall be suitable to receive the
necessary numbers & types of Input Signals and provide necessary numbers & types of output signals to
meet the required operating conditions as per the operation logic enclosed.
4.03 It shall be complete with manual override option to provide maximum ventilation during pre-determined
peak loads.
4.04 It shall be complete with smoke override option to provide maximum ventilation up on receiving signal from
smoke detector or central fire alarm panel or sensing the fire conditions through the inbuilt CO sensor
signal. As such, the fire module shall provide a fail-safe smoke exhaust in case of fire & a manual override
to override the sensors to provide maximum ventilation.
4.05 CO Sensor 0 to 150 ppm 4.06 CO Sensor +/- 10 ppm
Range: Accuracy:
4.07 CO2 Sensor 0 to 2000 ppm 4.08 CO2 Sensor +/- 30 ppm
Range: Accuracy:
4.09 All components shall be housed in an attractive casing of approximate size 300 x 300 x 100 mm with all
terminals for wiring neatly arranged for easy field wiring.
4.10 Input Power 230 V +/- 10%, 50 Hz +/- 5%, 4.11 Transformer: The unit shall be complete with
Supply: Single Phase AC transformer, if required.
4.12 The fire module shall be complete with RS communication port for communication with each other to
provide proper coverage in a ventilation zone & for integration with BMS system. All manual operations
possible through the fire control module shall be possible through the BMS operating station. All displays /
information available on the fire control module shall also be displayed on the BMS operating system.

5.00 Coverage & Location of Fire Modules:

5.01 The Number / Quantity of Fire Modules required shall be calculated as below:
5.02 Number of Fire Modules = A x SQRT(L/W) / 1000
a A = Ventilation Zone Area in Sqm, L = Length of Ventilation Zone in m, W = Width of Ventilation Zone in m

5.03 Maximum Distance of any corner of the ventilation zone to the nearest fire module shall not exceed 25 m.

5.04 First 12 m from the fresh air intake shall be considered as naturally ventilated space and hence the
distance of the nearest fire module from the fresh air intake shall not be less than 12 m.
5.05 The fire modules shall be located at 1.80 m height on the column / wall face.
6.00 Master Control:
6.01 For Ventilation Zones requiring more than one fire modules, it shall be possible to make fire modules
closest to the starter panels as master modules to minimize the cabling.
