STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

“What you don’t sweat out when you’re young will turn into tears when

you’re old”. This opportunity gives me a wide vision for professional

development and I believe this program will change my life in the next 3 to 5

years. I want to hasten my teaching skills as a teacher in assisting English as a

second language through  the 2021 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET)

Programme. This once in a lifetime opportunity will forever be etched to my

memory.

I graduated as a Cum Laude of Bachelor of Science in Elementary

Education major in General Education in Western Mindanao State University

Zamboanga City. I was hired immediately by the school as a Guest Lecturer or

Instructor for 1 year. After 2015, I was able to be part of a college institution as

a classroom teacher for 2 years at Blancia College Foundation, Molave,

Zamboanga del Sur. From 2018 until present, I am connected to the Department

of Education, Region 10, Division of Misamis Occidental, Bonifacio West District.

Right now, I was designated as a writer/author in making Self Instructional

Materials as means for Learning Delivery Mode despite of pandemic. These

experiences gave me a better shape of an ability to teach different people with

proper protocol from the company or agency.

I heard this amazing program from my friend last 2018. I was

immediately drawn to its history as  one of the largest exchange programmes in

the world. Certainly, I want to pursue this position as Assistant Language

Teacher (ALT) in English as a Second Language because I want to diversify my

teaching experiences to different cultures that lead me to become a better

teacher. Thus, I could also help young learners to become productive in

speaking through the use of English Language. I know that different pedagogies

of learning should be considered in teaching especially in Teaching English as a

Second Language. I find myself as a kind, welcoming, and friendly teacher

towards students. I love adapting different cultures that enhances my knowledge

to the world in teaching especially learning the national local language of Japan

which is Nihongo. I think, one of my best asset is that I can easily adjust the

situation that leads me to easily follow instructions necessary for the specific job.

In this way, I can help more learners to become proficient in their speaking

ability with the use of English Language.

I have a strong belief that I can help the company in teaching work

appropriately. I am highly self motivated individual who if get associated with

the company of enthusiastic individuals can do wonders. Working as an assistant

teacher of your company will make me an all rounder for sure and I am sure my

learning will continue fruitfully with more tasks. It will not only be an asset for

my experience but will increase my zeal to know more and more. I hope I have

justified myself well and you will consider me favorably.
