The diagram depicts Foster Road in its current state and after the implementation of the
proposed changes.
There are several changes suggested in order to provide space , safety and natural
vegetation on the roadside. But the noticeable ones are installation of–
1.wider sidewalks
2.new crossing
3.bicycle lanes
4. trees along the roadside
To begin with, the current picture of Foster road shows a four-laned road with a narrow
sidewalk and no separate cycle lane.
The planners propose to widen the sidewalks and include a bicycle lane. In addition, a new
zebra crossing is to installed at the intersection point which will include an island in the
middle for people to wait safely while crossing the road .Further, there is a proposed
suggestion to plant more trees on both sides of the road to make it more environment
friendly. These trees will transform the appearance of the neighbourhood as well as provide
shade to the pedestrians.
