TEACHER’S PHILOSOPHY OF
EDUCATION
Page | 4
The philosophy is that people must believe in something. According to
John Dewey, education is by its nature an endless circle spiral. It is an
activity, which includes science, because in its process, it raises problems
to be studied which then reacts upon demanding more through, more
science in an everlasting sequence.

This definition of education makes imperative to a person to have a

philosophy of education and beliefs in the function of teaching.

A teacher should believe in the intended processes and activities to

produce desirable changes in the behavior of students. We must believe
in the capacity to affect these changes, promote and facilitate these
changes through the mastery of the subject matter and the use of
appropriate methods and techniques of teaching.

A teacher also functions as manipulator of teaching learning situations.

As a manipulator, she believes in her ability to create a series of
operations directed to change specific behavior. These are just the parts
of a teacher’s educational philosophy.

As a Field Study Student, she must believe in something that will

eventually help her in setting the goal of her life. This will focus on the
values and objectives of the new social order; that will help the teacher in
analyzing and organizing her objectives; crystallizing the thoughts that
will serve as guide to prevent a teacher from getting lost their maze of
her many faceted chores. The school occupies premier place in the
construction of the society, particularly in the matter of changing the
attitudes towards community. The role of the teacher plays will be a
crystallizer and evaluation of the educational program under the
democratic society.

Teacher’s Prayer
James J. Metcalf
I want to teach my students how
Page | 5
To live this life on earth,
To face its struggles and its strife
And to improve their worth.

Not just a lesson in a book,

Or how the rivers flow,
But to choose the proper path,
Wherever they may go.

To understand eternal truth,

And know right from wrong,
And gather all the beauty of
A flower and a song.

For if I help the world to grow

In wisdom and grace,
Then I feel that I have won
And I have filled my place.

And so I ask your guidance, God

That I may do my part,
For character and confidence
And happiness of heart.
Amen. . .

At the end of this episode, I will gain competence in clarifying my values about
teaching, and in articulating and demonstrating one’s personal philosophy of
teaching. The end goal is to be a positive role model for students.

MY MAP

For me an effective teacher in the future it is important to first start with an

awareness of my values about teaching and then write my mission statement or
philosophy that I will upload with conviction.

To reach my target, do the following tasks:

Page | 7
Step 1. Interview 3-5 teachers about their
beliefs on the why, what and how of
teaching.

Step 2. Analyze the values and philosophy

behind the teachers’ beliefs.

Step 3. Reflect about your own values and

a. My goals for my students are to allow students to choose where they want
to go in school and what to achieve. By knowing what they want to achieve
they know what they have to concentrate on and improve. Goal setting
gives students long-term vision and short-term motivation.
b. What I really want to teach to my students are the following: improve their
academic performance, increase their motivation to achieve, increase pride
and satisfaction in performance and improve their self-confidence.
c. I will teach my students by setting goals and measuring their
achievements, students are able to see what they have done and what they
are capable of. Seeing their results gives the confidence and assurance that
they need to believe they can achieve higher goals. In order to execute
these goals the following points must be keep in mind.
 Be original. Teachers will appreciate someone who brings a unique
personality to the student teaching experience.
 Be innovative. This is your time to take all that you have learned and apply
it to teaching. Let the knowledge, ideas, and experiences you acquired
along the way fuel your teaching. Don’t be afraid to experiment.
 Collaborate. It is very important to network with all teachers.
 Be dedicated. Always show passion for what you do. Take advantage of
opportunities to become involved with activities outside of school if
possible.
 Have fun. You can do all of things above, but will be missing out on one of
the greatest aspects of the education profession if you forget to have fun.
Enjoy the students; they will make you smile every day. Enjoy your
colleagues; they are wonderful role models. Enjoy the experience; it is
something that you will carry along into your teaching career.

I agree with the teacher who wants their students to value education
because it is the big factor for their success in life. I appreciate the goals of
every teacher I interview it is a big help for me as a soon educators.

2. This time, it’s your turn to answer the 3 sentence completion

item.
a. My goals for my students are
1. To educate and help them build and achieve their aspirations and
dreams in life. I will be their guide to discover their potentials and
gifts from God. I well let them feel that they are of great
importance and that they must be given attention so as to cater
their diverse of learning needs and to develop life-long learning
among them.
2. To share ideas and practice lifelong learning with my students.
3. To inspire them to learn by their own and let them realize how
important they are as an individual. They have their own style of
learning and they must use it for their own improvement.

Page | 20
4. To let them appreciate that learning is more fun and enjoyable
when there is cooperation, collaboration, give and take
relationship between me and them so that each one of them will
be motivated to study.

b. What I really want to teach my students is

I want to teach my students with information, skills and good moral

technologies incorporating varied and appropriate teaching
techniques and assessment methods in teaching a certain
concepts so they may learn progressively and become globally
competitive students in their generation.
 By using different strategies, methods and techniques that will
suit to their learning abilities and needs best. I believe that
teaching will be effective and beneficial when my student can
comprehend and apply what they have learned from classroom
to real world. Learning by doing.

What philosophy do you adhere to? Why?

I really adhere to progressivism philosophy because it reminds me of the

most important stakeholder in a certain school known as the center of the
educative process, the learners. As a future teacher, I should first
primarily consider the diverse learning needs and interests of my learners.
Page | 21
And also, I really believe that understanding them is of great significance
and involving them in the teaching-learning process is a must so as to
help them achieve life-long learning.

As a future teacher someday my mission statement is

My Missi to go to work every day with passion and integrity not

on Statem for the salary. And also as a hard-working and

dedicated individual I want to make learning fun and

ent as interactive for all of my students. I make sure that my

classroom is conducive to learning for my students. It will be interactive and inviting,
I want all of my students to feel welcome when they go inside my classroom no
worries in their mind. As a person with a disability I plan to work hard to make sure
that no one of my students will fall through the cracks of our educational system. I
am so enthusiastic about my career choice and I cannot wait to teach and learn on a

The classroom structure TNESC is flexible. There are only nine students
in the class; five male and four female that is why the classroom has
conducive to learning. The students can easily move because it has a wide
area. The time allotted well not managed in the classroom because the
students have enough time to think in answering such questions.
Attendance of the student being checked by their teacher the class starts.
There is no filing cabinet were the student work will put. The classroom
is clean they apply wax in the floor in order that to make it shinny if the
students will scrub it. There no proper ventilation in the sense that the
wall is about to repaired. The lightning is always functioning. The noise
level also is minimizing but sometimes the noise of motorcycle at the
back of the school that can destruct the attention of the student during
discussion. The bulletin board is properly displayed at the left side of the
room. The content of the bulletin board is the whole year schedule of
activities, list of honors student and it is also colorful that arouse the
interest of the student to read. The seating arrangement is arrange in
three rows. It is quite far for each other to avoid cheating during exam.
They can easily freely move without disturbing to each other. The
discipline is properly establish in the sense that giving additional points
to the student who is not noisy and deducted point to those students who
is very noisy. That’s why students are very behaving in the class
especially when their teacher gives short quiz or activity to do.

The class of CNHS I overcrowded because it has forty-eight students;

every day at least one hour a day. The teacher is always checked the
attendance every day. It is recorded in the attendance record sheet. The
teacher prepare a cabinet were the portfolio of the student will be filed
and arrange it alphabetically. Cleanliness is properly maintained and the
floor is very shinny. I see the open windows that where fresh air can
enter inside the classroom and makes the student feel good. Not only
wide windows there is also two ceiling fan and one stand fan functioning
inside the room. There are four fluorescent lamps. The noise level is
properly controlled by the teacher even though there is a big number of
enrollee. The student is very attentive in listening the discussion of their
teacher that is why they are not noisy they are focus on the teachers
discussion. The bulletin board is posted in the right side portion near to
the door. I did not see any display for each subject area. The seating
arrangement is arrange in two columns. The right column contains 4 x 6
armchairs and in the left column has 4 x 7 armchairs. If teacher is
standing at the back of the students. The daily routine is divided by their
teacher by group.

Page | 31
Based on my observation, I can say that teacher is effective in the six areas of the
classroom management except the discipline because it needs attention in
establishing discipline to the student that will make the classroom effective for
managing the classroom. Sometimes the student well show misbehaving that will not
avoided. However the most effective areas of classroom management is the record
keeping because the teacher thoroughly know the progress based from the daily
performance of the student. The teacher should always monitored.

In what area of classroom management was the teacher least effective?

Which supportive measures were not effective? Why?

In CNHS the teacher least effective is in the physical environment of the classroom
it’s because the enrollees is quit big, composed of forty-eight student and that made
the classroom become very crowded.

Suggest more effective ways for your answer in number 2.

Since the classroom is become very crowded. The teacher give establishes separate
activities in a separate setting like group activities. It will be performed or done
outside the classroom, with proper allocation of time to finish the required task or
activity. A certain activity is given 15-20 minutes only for the students to comply the
said activity. When the group is done they will return inside the classroom to present
their work to the class.

My Reflections

1. Describe at least 3-5 characteristics of a teacher who can establish

a well-managed classroom?

Page | 32
Disciplined – if a teacher is well-disciplined, he or she can impact it into the
students to behave properly and act as a well-mannered one. Problems
regarding disorganization of students will be lessen because the teacher well
establish rules and regulation that the student might follow.

Organized – a teacher should know on how to organize his or her lessons by

using the PIE means that plan, implement and evaluate to avoid misleading
of concepts with regards to the lesson to be discussed.

Able to create time management – a teacher should know when to start

or to end his or her lessons so that a time allowed for the lesson to be
discussed will be followed without getting left behind the other concepts. The
flow of the discussion is systematic and it should done in the alloted time.

Patient – if the teacher is being patient to her student, she will not get angry
easily, if ever students misbehave inside the classroom. It means that she can
manage the different abilities of each student inside the classroom, especially
to those slow learner students. She can immediately give reinforcement.

Creativity – being a creative teacher the discussion well become effective.

The teacher become effective when she stimulate creativity such as telling
interesting stories and engage every students in various activity like role
playing, reporting, etc. which is anchored to the subject taught. Through
creativity approach, I can design task that can boost my learner’s willingness
and enhance their learning because I can fit with their learning style.

2. What characteristics do you have at present that can make you an

effective classroom manager? Elaborate how these characteristics
can help you.

As a future teacher I prefer to become an open-minded teacher because being

open-minded means that I am open and willing to accept and listen the ideas
and suggetions of others in order to have a harmonious relationship inside my
classroom between the teacher to student and student to student. As a teacher

Page | 33
I establish rules and regulations that is being agreed by everybody. It is posted
in the wall that the student can easily read.

3. What characteristics do you have at present that can hamper you

from becoming an effective classroom manager. How can you
overcome these characteristics?

As what I have observe to myself now, I easily get nervous especially when I
am not confident of what I am saying. I can overcome this characteristic by
being confident in everything that I will do and if things went wrong most
especially if things didn’t turned out to what I expect. I will just remind myself
to stay calm and find an appropriate solution that will solve the problem. I’ll
always ask guidance from God.

MY TARGET

At the end of this episode, I will gain competence in identifying possible linkages
between the school and the communities, particularly those that help attain
curricular goals.

MY MAP

The teacher never lives in isolation. For me an effective teacher in the future it is to
forge genuine win-win relationship between the school and the community.

To reach my target, do the following tasks:

Page | 36
Step 1. Tour the community around your cooperating
school.

Step 2. Gather information about the

issues/concerns/problems of the community that affect
the school and where the teacher and students can help.
Also, gather information, about the resources of
community.

Step 3. Analyze the possible linkages that the school and

the community can have.

Step 4. Reflect on the vital role of the teacher as a

COMMUNITY TOUR OBSERVATION REPORT

Name of the School Observed: The New El Salvador Colleges

Cogon National High School
School Address: Zone 4, Poblacion, El Salvador City
Page | 37
Cogon, El Salvador City
Date of Visit: December 4, 2014
January 20, 2015
Locality of the School
The New El Salvador Colleges is located near the national high way going to Cagayan
de Oro and Iligan. The school is a little bet near the church of El Salvador. Many
houses were built near the school. The people living here is abundant in their human
resources. There are also lots of government institutions found such as the local
government unit, city health, city hospital, CIDG, BIR and etc. There are lots of non-
government organization also like FICCO, CARD, and PAG-ASA which is located few
meters away from the school.

The Cogon National High School is located at zone 3, Cogon El Salvador City. It is
also located at the front of Seventh Day Adventist Church. It is surrounded with
many trees and few houses build. There is barangay hall and health center in this
place. CNHS is the one of the oldest school in El Salvador City. Few meters away
from the school they have their wet market and every Wednesday many people go
there because in the Visayan term they called it “TABO” which means that people
come from the neighboring barangay will bring their crops barangay in order to sell.
And many people coming from other barangay also will go there to buy those crops.
Issues/Concerns/Problems of the Community
The TNESC surrounded with many houses were built near the school and the
neighborhood is noisy because of many cars, big trucks, and motor vehicles past
along the high way. The environment is clean and not polluted. Sometimes at the
middle of classes, the resident at the neighboring areas will quarreled and they
shouted at each other with their loud voices that will disturb the discussion of our
teacher. The traffic condition of the school is okay because it is not located in the
national highway.

The CNHS is surrounded with many trees and there is only few houses build near the
school. The neighborhood is free from noise because there are few vehicles past. The
surrounding of the school is clean and not polluted because they have a proper
disposal of their garbage.
Community Resources

Page | 38
In El Salvador City they have lots of community resources where a teacher can use to
engage his/her students in actual learning. There are parks, factories and health
center and industrial centers. The school can visit of the said community resources
by having fieldtrips in different factories found in El Salvador City such as Asia
Brewery Incorporation, Zest-O, Universal Robina Corporation, W.L. and many more.
And the sports center is soon to be used.

In Cogon they have lots of resources and also they factories build such as DONAO
CARBON and MAGNOLIA FACTORY. There is also DIVINE MERCY SHRINE which
can visit and also we can our mediation inside the church.
Community Assistance/Service Given by the School
The TNESC is always participative during town fiesta. The students are involved in
the activities that will happen in the town celebration. They joined a parade together
with the band members and also their instructors. The teachers also participating
during their teacher night in the fiesta celebration. Through my interview of a certain
student I know that during their NSTP class they conducted tree planting activity
together with the basic education students and their instructor at Bolisong, El
Salvador City. They conducted also feeding program
The CNHS serves the community by participating during their “Araw ng Cogon”. The
school band with their CAT officer leads the parade during their opening day. During
city celebrations CNHS joined the parade together with their school band. The
teacher is always active participating during their Dep.Ed night. They always
involved in the dance presentation.

My Analysis

Suggest new in what ways by which the school can creatively use the
resources of the community.

I suggest having field trips is good for the students to have an exposure to their
community resources because there is always learning when they have actually
experienced it. The school can conduct fieldtrip in the different factories in the City
of El Salvador in order for them to know how the products were process. It can give
an excitement of the student. Especially if it is related to their subject because they

Page | 39
are also curios in how those products are being made in which they are using or
eating.

How can the school address the issues/concerns and problems of the
community?

Through the participation of the school in the different activities it can hold
symposiums in helping the community to be aware on how to lessen their
vulnerability on dengue fever. The school can provide tips on how to maintain
cleanliness at home and lessens the cases of dengue through conducting meetings to
the PTA/PTCA at schools. Through the cooperation and teamwork of everybody the
plan activity will done successfully.

What possible linkages can the community and the schools have?

The school conducted brigada eskwela before the classes start with the cooperation of
the parents of their students. They have tree planting, coastal clean-up and mangrove
planting during their NSTP class. During town fiesta celebrations, there is parade
and it is participated by different school coming from the different barangays in El
Salvador City. There is also Dep. Ed Night for those teachers teaching in public
school during fiesta. They always participate in every dance presentation.

1. How did you feel while you were going around the community?
What things did you learn that you might have taken for granted
before?
As I go around the community, I feel a sense of belongingness even though
I was strangers on that place. It is because the people there were very
approachable in times that I was ask question to them about the resources
can be found in the city of El Salvador they welcome me in their place. I
learned and also acquainted that there are many resources found in El
Salvador City that can contribute the learning of the students.

Page | 40
2. As a future teacher, what do you think will be your role in the
community?
As a future teacher, I think I will become a good adviser as well as a
surrogate parents to my future students as well as to the community
through making them aware of the things to do and what to do. By giving
them advices even on simple activity or task and providing them choices
on what to employ in terms of materials so as to produce better if not the
best results of their required task. I want to be a good model to everyone. I
encourage also my student to be vigilant in their community so that each
one of them can be helpful by avoiding chaos, helping others by good
deeds, and practice good values.

3. How will you encourage more community participation among

teachers and students?
I will encourage more community participation among teacher and
students through community service like feeding program, tree planting
and gift-giving during Christmas wherein teacher and students can have a
strong bonding at the same time helping each other.

My Analysis
From the responses of the teachers, what conclusions can you
make about the knowledge that a global teacher should have?

Based on what the teachers responses, to be a global teacher, one should have
the knowledge on the different approaches and methods in presenting and
delivering the lesson to the students. This knowledge on the methods and
approaches of teaching must go hand in hand with the teacher’s knowledge on
how to utilize the modern technologies that aid in the best learning of the
students. It is also a great challenge for a teacher to meet the needs of their
students. Teacher should possess amiable attitude towards his/her students to
build rapport with them.
A global teacher is a competent who is armed with enough skills, appropriate
attitude and universal values to teach students with both tested as well as
modern technologies in education in any place in the world. He or she is
someone who thinks and acts both locally and globally with world-wide
perspective, right in the communities where he or she is suited.

From the response of the teachers, what conclusion can you make
about the skills that a global teacher should have?

A global teacher, one should know how to manipulate the modern

technologies and be good in this ICT tools in teaching the lesson. This skill
must be applied inside the classroom as long as it is appropriate in the lesson
so as to be an effective global teacher. To have different strategies and
techniques in delivering the lesson makes a global teacher. A global teacher
should also possess the skills such as oral, good written; master the four
fundamental operations in mathematics and communication skills because

Page | 50
these are the basic and main skills that the teacher should have so as to deliver
the lesson effectively.

From the response of the teachers, what conclusion can you make
about the values that a global teacher should have?

A global teacher, one should impart values like being open-minded, flexible,
diligent, resourceful, able to adjust to new change and challenges, patient in
handling his students, love and compassion so as to be an effective global
teacher. These are the values must be observed by a teacher at all times so that
students will develop a sense of respect and eagerness in listening to the
discussion of their teacher every day.

Collect articles/reading about Global education the global teacher.

Enrich your answers in 1-3 with these readings. Place the
additional learning’s/insights you got from your readings.

In these modern times, I cannot deny the great influence of modern

technologies in our lives, much so with the way of our living, both the young
and adults alike. Mostly of the young now can manipulate gadgets like
cellphones, laptops, tablets, etc. With the advent of these modern
technologies, we were able to do our tasks easier. In the part of the teacher she
can deliver his/her discussion through the use of PowerPoint in the laptops or
in the tablet. This also made a very great impact to education; because of these
trends in teaching, we also allow ourselves to grow. We are no longer stagnant
to the traditional methods. Now the teacher is more authentic in delivering
his/her lesson to the class by the use of such technologies.

Page | 51
1. Write a song about your insights as to the knowledge, skills
and values that make up a global teacher. Make it to the tune
of “It’s a Small World” or create your own tune too.

My Global Teacher Song

When a global teacher starts the class

Everyone amazed at once

With creative and fulfilling minds

That always gives surprise

Everybody learns very well

Everybody is given care

To fulfill their dreams

The future students to prepare

It’s not about the money, money, money

We don’t need money, money, money, money

We just want to touch lives

The lives of our students

It’s all about teaching, teaching

To transfer learning, learning

And make students engaging and motivating.

2. Make your own game plan about how you can work towards
becoming a global teacher. Write on the Future Global
Teacher Life-line the things you will work on to become a
global teacher, starting NOW!

3. Below is a clip art essay on what a global teacher is. Examine
each part of the clip art essay. Think of a title for it. What
message does it convey to you? Write a reflection on this.

Title: Filipino: A Globally Competitive Teacher

Its message:
This clip art essay conveys a teacher, a Filipino one, as it clearly
showed from what the illustration of the country’s map, wherever may be
placed or whatever situation he/she will face, may it would be in his own land
or even abroad, to foreign countries and all around the globe, can be an
effective educator, giving his students not only the basic knowledge and skills
but important values and compassion as well. Through this she or he does and
attains with the aid of modern technologies and advancements which enable
him to become an effective and a globally competitive teacher. Adopting the
modern technologies can help to become globally competitive teacher to
his/her students.

My reflection:

Page | 54
In these modern years, a teacher should be well-equipped with the knowledge

and skills in the modern technologies. A teacher must know on how to

manipulate gadgets like laptops, tablets, desktops, etc. to make their work

easier. Much more with being a teacher, if a teacher has a good understanding

of how these advanced technologies work, he/she can apply it to teaching,

resulting to a better understanding of the students and providing them

insights and opportunities to improve their lives through the use and

application of these technologies.

A Teacher for All Seasons

A teacher is like Spring,

Who nurtures new green sprouts,
Encourages and leads them,
Whenever they have doubts.

A teacher is like Summer,

Whose sunny temperament
Makes studying a pleasure,
Preventing discontent.

A teacher is like Fall,

With methods crisp and clear,
Lessons of bright colors
And a happy atmosphere.

A teacher is like Winter,

While it's snowing hard outside,
Keeping students comfortable,
As a warm and helpful guide.

Teacher, you do all these things,

With a pleasant attitude;
You're a teacher for all seasons,
And you have my gratitude!

My Analysis

1. What values are reflected by the policies and guidelines found in

the school or teacher manual. Put your answers in the matrix
above. You may choose to put some additional comments here.

Page | 60
In reflects about the rights, obligations of a teacher on his teaching job and
also the benefits that he or she receive or get according to their
performance in teaching.

Additional Comments:

Following the rights and duties being a teacher is important because it develop
good values that the student can acquired. Teacher is a role model in school, the good
attitude of a teacher should be applied every in school. Always encourage students to
be self-discipline in order to develop them holistically. Having good values of
everyone can develop good relationship and it promotes positive human values.
Values and attitudes acquired by the student in school it promotes qualitative
improvement in student attitudes and behavior. Well-discipline students, is a big
help to a teachers find their work less stressful.

2. Cite the legal provisions/laws that are exemplified by each of the

policies/guidelines that you included in your matrix. To help
you, focus on the provisions of the following:

a. Magna Carta for Public School Teachers

b. Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers

c. Manual of Regulations for Private School

d. Certain parts of the Labor Code

e. Philippines Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994

Write your additional comments here:

The republic acts are very important to all teachers in the public and in
private school because it protects the rights of the teachers, like tenure of office,
academic freedom, and other benefits for their will being. Education is an essential
factor in the economic growth of the nation as a productive investment of vital
importance. The stability of employment and security of tenure shall be assured the
teachers as provided under existing laws. Magna carta for public school teacher
should be followed in order that they cannot abiding the law.

1. How do you feel about the policies and guidelines concerning

teachers? How will you respond to them in the future?

Page | 61
Through policies and guidelines concerning teachers helps them to
understand their rights, duties and obligations to the school. As a future
educator it is important to know and understand the policies and
guidelines of what we are studying in our teaching profession subject in
order for us to apply when we are in the field.

2. What insights/realizations did you have about the “demands” of

being a professional teacher? How will you meet these
challenging “demands” in the future?
For me, I realized that being a professional teacher will takes time, effort
and energy but with dedicated and determination I know that I can past
the challenge that I will facing in the future.

3. What are the values and strengths that can help you become a
true professional?
My love for whatever job that comes my way is my greatest value and
strenght. For it is not important that being knowlegdeable in a given job
but love what I am doing.
As what I have read the saying state that “Do what you say and say what
you can do”. This is one of my favorite sayings especially in view of the fact
that talking the talk is so prevalent and walking the walk so rare in this age
of sound bites. You should "engage brain" before speaking -- can you really
do what you are about to say? If you can't, the wizard behind the curtain
will eventually be revealed and hard-earned trust can be lost.

Overall Reflection
Page | 62
I learned a lot from this field study subject, especially from the responses of the
teachers about how, what and why they teach I get many insights from them.
Through their responses I learned how they handle their class particularly
mathematics subject by applying different strategies and techniques that are
suitable or applicable to their subject matter. To attained their desired learning
outcomes at the end of thelesson. We all know that teaching mathematics is
really so hard because it’s more on analyzing, computing and solving problem
through the use of different formulas. I learned on how to deal student and
surely it is big help that I can apply it in my future teaching. During my
observation in their class, I learned how the classroom environment affects the
learning process of the students. By observing, there are lots of ideas registered
or restore and acquired in my mind on how I can improve my classroom
environment to become conducive to learning.

When I visit the community I realized how I take for granted those resources
that can utilize for more learning’s. The community isabig help for the learning
of the students. The school can have a fieldtrips on the different resources in the
city of El Salvador like factories where the the student can actully watch on how
to process foods that they were eaten.

And lastly, I was given a chance to interview my cooperating teacher about their
insights of being a global teacher. It is a big help for to interview them because
now I have an idea on how to become a global teacher someday. What their
insight that they shared to me it serve as guide and it is better to apply.

examples set in a worldly framework, and opportunity to be involved, physically,
with real situations in the field. All of this promotes a deeper understanding of the

subject being studied and improved ability to recall the information and experiences,
later, as needed.

Real learning opportunities

It is understood by all educational disciplines and potential employers that personal

experiences gained by working with “real” world activities and in “real” settings
enhance and improve learning, increasing understanding and knowledge. Since
activities in the field are never limited to one discipline or aspect, they will always
broaden awareness and emphasize connections between ideas and practical realities.

To the sciences and other disciplines (academic and vocational), the field study
programs provide students with that opportunity to become “personally” involved in
their learning through these practical field applications and hands – on experiences.
You would not expect to develop excellent athletes or skilled carpenters or fluent
writers or accomplished mathematicians without including opportunities in their
education that allow them to practice, apply principles and perfect their skills. Stand-
alone field study classes and field trips within a classroom course provide valuable
experiences that serious students within these disciplines should not be either denied
or missed.
