ask him then. But he just smiled at me and
tapped my shoulders using his calloused big
hands.

When my grandfather died, we put the


watch in his casket and buried it with
him. My father said that it was my
Lola’s wedding gift to him. That’s when
I realized how important that old watch
is to my Lolo.
