Introduction
We live not only in the world of science, but also in developing technologies. It is not surprising that
today every company is committed to digital technology and benefits from its products. During this
time, everyone wants to do the job with less time or effort. Obviously, we are talking about such
topics, which is related with artificial intelligence. In our report, we first present the project to
determine its goals and objectives. Later we will try to show the impact of technology on customers.
Therefore, we conducted a survey and, finally, analysed its results and indicated the necessary
results.

Part1
Project Title:

Evaluating the use of AI elements to improve user experience in Calculator.

1.What will it cover?
This project is a research project to know the use of AI in calculator. This calculator helps
handicapped people to use it more conveniently and in an easy manner. In AI calculator when you
say three add four then calculator add those number. In calculator we can use the Multiply, Divide,
Add, Subtract function more easily.

2.Why you want to do it?

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

So, this machine is a voice-based system where humans voice is needed. we want to do this research
project to know about the use of AI in calculator. We want to this to help the handicapped people
who are disabled in talking or listening. So, we want to do this project to know about the
performance and accuracy by using AI in calculator.

3.How will you do it?

We will make this research project successful by asking many questions and doing many surveys
among the disabled people. We will ask them questions before the system is implemented in
calculator and after the system is implemented in calculator. We have even conducted the
observation of other calculators to know the better use of AI.

Project Justification:
The project will be implemented as an AI in calculator and the main motto behind this project will be
help to handicapped person. Calculators are used in various sector such as market, bank and home. In
handicapped person filed the system can be fit in the sound when he/she say three add four then
calculator add those number. In calculator we can use the Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract function
more easily.

Project aims and objectives

Project aims:

The purpose of the project is to achieve project results in the long run to achieve better results. For
the purposes of my project, we will also share ideas on how to discuss our wishes or satisfaction
conclusions and share ideas on how to achieve this. Each project has different goals and objectives.

Gantt chart
A Gantt chart, commonly used in project management, is one of the most popular and useful ways of
showing activities (tasks or events) displayed against time. On the left of the chart is a list of the
activities and along the top is a suitable time scale. Each activity is represented by a bar; the position
and length of the bar reflects the start date, duration and end date of the activity. In order to maintain
all the task and schedule of my project the voice-based system in Calculator I have designed a Gantt
chart which is shown below. For any project Gantt is very important because from Gantt chart we
can see the progress of our task and keep regular tracking of our project. The following below is the
Gantt chart of my project in which I have mention the detail of my project. My overall project will
last for about 56 days which is about 8 weeks. The project will complete in three stage. In first stage
we have planning and initiation which will last for about 28 days i.e. four weeks. The next stage
consists of project execution which will last for 21 days and the last phase is closing stage that will
last for about 7 days. All the task performed within these phases are shown in the following chart:

Risk Action Plan

A risk action plan is a plan to overcome and mitigate future risks that may affect the entire project.
The risk action plan is based on organizational needs or project requirements. There are different
types of risk management action plans, but the goal of each risk plan is to reduce risk. My job is also
to create a research project. In the project, you need to be careful about everything to make the
project a success. In order to reduce the risk of protection, we have developed a risk action plan that
mentions five risks based on the importance of the project in the project and how to prevent it.

Milestone Schedule
Basically, we have the idea that milestone schedule is the schedule or plan that is the review of the
research project. In milestone schedule, it doesn’t include all the tasks but the major tasks of the
project. The tasks which we think that are more prior and more important that are existed in the
course of a project research are included in the milestone schedule. We can also say that milestone
schedule gives us a quite brief review about our plan and whole schedule that we made in work
breakdown structure and Gantt chart.

We know that, The critical factor to open or start a new research project in a particular sector is to
have a proper plan and stick to the plan and proper execution in proper time as well. The research
project as AI in calculator is a new project which may be encountered all possible problems in basic
mathematical calculation and it will be more beneficial for those who were suffered from physical
weakness, after complete of our research we expect that it may give the huge contribution on
education of those who were physically disable. The actual aim of our research project is to provide
more easiness and acess on among physically disable persons. The research project needs a time of
total 8 weeks to complete its all field related work for the project work.

First, I created ideas about the table and what should be used and inserted into this table. I prepared
a table that contains the name of the task, the duration of the plan, the actual duration and
achievement of the goal. I recorded all the records when the tasks were completed, and the duration
of their days from the beginning of work to the end of work. And after filling out the table, I came to
the conclusion that we reached 90% of the project and the scale of the project was agreed. Again, I
prepared another table, which consists of tasks, their planned costs, the actual required costs and the
state of the budget. We knew that the actual costs were higher than the planned costs, at the
preparatory stage the actual costs were higher than the planned costs, the costs for the programming
phase were budgeted, but at the unit testing stage, the actual costs were lower than the planned costs,
delivery costs were planned. In addition, total actual expenses exceeded the budget. It can be clearly

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

seen from the paragraph above that different ideas were developed to solve this problem, since our
actual costs were higher than planned.

Finally, in this task, I have undertaken and implemented the proposed project in accordance. I have
also provided the screenshot of the project which is delivered. The designed project will provide the
information about impacts of AI in calculator. I arranged, actualized and assessed the project for the
college and I have displayed the outcome, regarding process and the product of the project inside a
characterized timescale and given imperatives. Due to the genuine ideas, the system also provides
the flexibility of generating the required documents. These all activities are done with no error. This
all process are succeed due to our pre planning, correct decision and due to proper analyzing ways.

Methodology
1. Qualitative research method
Qualitative research method is the process of generating ideas by doing deep inquiry which helps to
develop the understanding on human and social science on the basis of observation and
interpretation. Such type of data is process oriented and cannot be measurable.

2. Quantitative research method

Quantitative research method is the method in which hard fact and numeric data are generated by
employing logical, statistical and mathematic technique. These types of data can easily be measured
therefore also known as empirical research. In this method we divide the data in different category or
rank the data on basis of our opinion and then find calculate the average answer.

Evaluate the accuracy and reliability of different research methods

The research method has been applied in the project related to the methods of qualitative and
quantitative methods for market research. This researching method will help the various researchers
to record the data by different kind of surveys, as it will be easier for them to analyse the data. All
the data are essential to be recorded accurately and systematically. However, the researchers can also
rely upon the data that is already being collected. It can also be some error of margin if the
respondent does not understand the question that is asked. Therefore, it will be tough to provide the
actual data that is required (Fleming and Koppelman, 2016). Quantitative research has lots of

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

beneficial within for the researchers who provide the questionnaire that is respondent and
anonymous, as well as it provides data with honesty and confidence. There will not be any such
pressure in regards with providing the feedbacks as well as answering the questions etc. Researchers
will calculate all data's that is provided by the people. The major issues related to this method are
that it is too broad and lengthy; therefore, it will take maximum period. Chances for the human error
will also be high for the data to be manipulated. The reliability of the data will be reduced and will
be very useful provided if the data is analysed correctly.

The primary goal of the quantitative research is to quantify problems by the methods of generating
numerical data or the data, which can be transformed into the right statistics, as well as it can also be
generalised the result from the population of the larger sample. The quantitative research utilises data
to create facts and uncover patterns in the research (Aveling et al. 2015). Quantitative methods are
more structured compared to the qualitative methods. It includes various kinds of surveys such as
mobile survey, online surveys, and paper survey etc. Some of the best quantitative researches by
which the data can be gathered are given below:

Interviews: It can be structured, unstructured or semi-structured.

Focus groups: It involves various participants discussing about an issue.

Postcards: It is a small scale written questionnaires. That provides space to write in own words.

Secondary data: It includes diaries, written accounts related to past events, company reports and
many others.

Observation: That is available on the site, under the laboratory conditions, related to the situations of
role-playing.

This method will allow the researcher to get the feel of the respondents and allow to know the
thinking behind their choices. The research work is focused on the people and the customers
basically who loves to travel. With the help of the method, the researcher will able to find the data
and most importantly the impact after implemeting AI element in Bikes in the social, environmental
and the economic aspects (da Costa, 2016). There are some of the questions, which will be asked by
the researcher to the respondent to get all the necessary details about the company and the thinking
of the people.

 Will this system is useful for those who are suffered from physical disabilities ?
 Will it make the calculation more easier?

 Will this research helps in developing technology ?

 Will everyone satisfy with this system?

Qualitative is one of the essential steps in the process of project research. Qualitative research is also
essential for gaining a broad of understanding for the fundamental reasons as well as it is excellent
for motivating behind the consumer decisions. Qualitative market research is a kind of research that
is conducted by using the observation as well as the unstructured questioning (Norris et al. 2015).
The primary purpose of qualitative research is to gain the insights in a deeper motive and behind the
consumer purchases. Some of the best qualitative research by which the data can be gathered are
summarised below:

Observations

Observation is essential to analyse the counting of numbers often when the specific phenomenon
occurs as well as how often the specific words are utilised in the interviews, or the observational
coding data to translate it in various numbers (Simonet and Chatigny, 2018).

Surveys

It is too analysed whether it is conducted online, in person or by phone. Surveys rely similarly based
on the questions that are being asked by the same number of people.

Secondary data

Secondary data can be such as the company accounts.

With the help of the research method the researcher can able to gather all the necessary data which is
necessary to evaluate and then the researcher can come to the conclusion of the about the primary
objective of the research is to find out the impact of the Amazon in the United Kingdom (Fiore-
Gartland, 2017). Moreover, with the help of the qualitative method the researcher can able to find out
the factors that are influencing the country with the help of the local respondent.

Conclusions
Since, we have applied different research methods in a systematic way. We asked questions to them
face to face, we have done group discussions, interviews, questionnaire etc. Likewise, we have also
done online survey where lots of peoples are involved in those surveys. And findings are almost all

positive which will verify that research methods applied to find out peoples thoughts about this
system is accurate and reliable to continue the project.

D1: Critically evaluates the project management process, and appropriate

research methodologies applied.

The impact of using Google Maps as the AI element of a calculator can be understood by using
survey methods conducted by qualitative and quantitative marketing research. The project should be
conducted primarily with the help of respondents and how to obtain accurate data relevant to a
particular sector, namely car companies and issues affecting tourism (Noble and Smith), 2015). The
data collected by researchers helps to understand the different ways of thinking and perceptions of
local people and their actual impact on businesses and consumers. The various myths that apply to
this particular project can help provide some reliable data related to the project's theme. We
conducted a number of surveys, mainly using different methods and qualitative and quantitative
marketing surveys. First, choose the project goals and scale. Next, we created a team to complete the
project. Estimate project budgets, develop communication plans, and identify and implement risks.

Qualitative Data Analysis

For the qualitative data analysis, the response from the department manager and the research owner
was recorded and analysed.

Q1.why do you think that this system is necessary for person?

For this question there was positive response for the manager. He said that the implementation of this
project will help the handicapped who don’t seen eye. Form the talk of manager, it was clear that he
looking forward to implement this system in everywhere like as school and working area.

Q2. How did you come to know about this idea?

When this question was asked to the research owner of this project. He told us how he came to this
idea. When I travelled then I saw handicapped person they have no eye when they give money
contactor and then contactor return money handicapped person confuse how much money return so
when I make this type calculator to easy count money and know how can give and return. So, I see
this then come to know about this idea.

Communicate appropriate recommendations as a result of research and data

analysis to draw valid and meaningful conclusions.
As I have been working under the research and development department for an organization. My
main task was to carry out small scale research in different area in order to discover some
development in the IT and computer science field and especially in artificial intelligent. By
considering the use of artificial intelligent I have planned to do research on emotion recognition
system that can be implemented in the calculator voice-based system and can be helpful to help the
handicapped people to use it more conveniently and in an easy manner.

The main objectives of the project are:

 Easy to the Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract function more easily for handicapped.

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

 Too easy for count the money

 To know about give money and return money.

Observation of the secondary data:

In secondary observation we observe that how the AI is helping to us in more different fields which I
have collected some data form the internet source, by person and magazine and from that analysis
following is obtained.

 Use of AI in calculator voice-based system:

Many people blind so they have difficult to calculated the money. AI is implemented in the voice
base system which can take the money in easy way. The uses of AI in this system is increasing day
by day in current situation this system is highly increase in handicap person.

 Implementation of AI in automation.
Today, there are several automatic devices that help people. From this study, it turns out that there
are many automatic tools at school or university that help students and school staff. There are
automatic doors, air conditioning, biometrics, monitors, etc. They help provide more assistance to
students.

Based on several surveys conducted to determine the status of the project and previous qualitative
and quantitative analyzes, the team and the people who participated in the survey believe that the
introduction of AI on the calculator voice-based system will be useful for handicap person. From the
positive response of many people, we can now plan the implementation of this project.

After getting all the positive result now we can plan confidentially for the project of this product. The
recommendation for this project is given below:

Recommendation:

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

• If you need to connect to this system via the internet, you can easily control it remotely.
• You can promote this system by adding ads.
• You need to organize personnel training to use this system.
• Create a workshop that appropriately guides the use of this technology.
• Provide documentation for maintenance.

Evaluate the selection of appropriate tools and techniques for accuracy and
authenticity to support and justify recommendations
The whole research is based on the two methods that are the quantitative and qualitative that is used
to gather the data for the research work. In the methods all, the data has been recorded in the recorder
in audio, and video format, as well as the researcher, has been taken the data in the written format
(Vidal, 2017). The technologies like the iPad and the tablets will help to gather and analyse the data
very fast. It is required to have the proper handling of the team to get the data correctly, the team
should be doing their work sincerely, and the communication between the team is necessary for
getting all the requirements from a different part of our project.

Advantages of Qualitative Research?

1.Subject materials can be evaluated with greater detail.

There are many time restrictions that are placed on research methods. The goal of a time restriction is
to create a measurable outcome so that metrics can be in place. Qualitative research focuses less on
the metrics of the data that is being collected and more on the subtleties of what can be found in that
information. This allows for the data to have an enhanced level of detail to it, which can provide
more opportunities to glean insights from it during examination.

1. Qualitative research data is based on human experiences and observations.

Humans have two very different operating systems. One is a subconscious method of operation,
which is the fast and instinctual observations that are made when data is present. The other operating
system is slower and more methodical, wanting to evaluate all sources of data before deciding. Many
forms of research rely on the second operating system while ignoring the instinctual nature of the
human mind. Qualitative research doesn’t ignore the gut instinct. It embraces it and the data that can
be collected is often better for it.

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

3. Gathered data has a predictive quality to it.

One of the common mistakes that occur with qualitative research is an assumption that a personal
perspective can be extrapolated into a group perspective. This is only possible when individuals
grow up in similar circumstances, have similar perspectives about the world, and operate with similar
goals. When these groups can be identified, however, the gathered individualistic data can have a
predictive quality for those who are in a like-minded group. At the very least, the data has a
predictive quality for the individual from whom it was gathered.

2. Qualitative research is an open-ended process.

When a researcher is properly prepared, the open-ended structures of qualitative research make it
possible to get underneath superficial responses and rational thoughts to gather information from an
individual’s emotional response. This is critically important to this form of researcher because it is an
emotional response which often drives a person’s decisions or influences their behavior.

Disadvantages of Qualitative Research?

1. The quality of the data gathered in qualitative research is highly subjective.

This is where the personal nature of data gathering in qualitative research can also be a negative
component of the process. What one researcher might feel is important and necessary to gather can
be data that another researcher feels is pointless and won’t spend time pursuing it. Having individual
perspectives and including instinctual decisions can lead to incredibly detailed data. It can also lead
to data that is generalized or even inaccurate because of its reliance on researcher subjectivisms.

2. Data rigidity is more difficult to assess and demonstrate.

Because individual perspectives are often the foundation of the data that is gathered in qualitative
research, it is more difficult to prove that there is rigidity in the information that is collective. The
human mind tends to remember things in the way it wants to remember them. That is why memories
are often looked at fondly, even if the actual events that occurred may have been somewhat
disturbing at the time. This innate desire to look at the good in things makes it difficult for
researchers to demonstrate data validity.

3. Mining data gathered by qualitative research can be time consuming.

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

The number of details that are often collected while performing qualitative research are often
overwhelming. Sorting through that data to pull out the key points can be a time-consuming effort. It
is also a subjective effort because what one researcher feels is important may not be pulled out by
another researcher. Unless there are some standards in place that cannot be overridden, data mining
through a massive number of details can almost be more trouble than it is worth in some instances.

4. Data created through qualitative research is not always accepted.

Because of the subjective nature of the data that is collected in qualitative research, findings are not
always accepted by the scientific community. A second independent qualitative research effort which
can produce similar findings is often necessary to begin the process of community acceptance.

Qualitative method

Qualitative data are usually gathered by observation, interviews or focus groups, but may also be
gathered from written documents and through case studies.  In qualitative research there is less
emphasis on counting numbers of people who think or behave in certain ways and more emphasis
on explaining why people think and behave in certain ways.  Participants in qualitative studies often
involve smaller numbers of tools include and utilizes open-ended questionnaires interview guides.
This type of research is best used to answer how and why questions and is not well suited to
generalizable what, when and who questions.

Strengths Limitations

Findings usually cannot be generalised to the study

Complement and refine quantitative data
population or community

Provide more detailed information to More difficult to analyse; don’t fit neatly in standard
explain complex issues categories

Multiple methods for gathering data on

Data collection is usually time consuming

Project Management Tools

When applying any of the techniques to the project you need to accomplish, you also need to use
specific tools for successfully implementing the technique. Here’s a list of software tools that are
used in project management on different work steps.

Organizing Workflow & Planning

This step is the core part of starting a project: it defines how the project will be performed, and how
the quality of its outcome will be ensured. Large companies often use such comprehensive solutions
as MS Project. For smaller teams, various alternatives are available. They don’t provide all the rich
functionality typical to complex and expensive tools, but they have planning and roadmap features
that are sufficient for visualizing future project progress.

Communication
Being the key point in many techniques and methodologies, communication within a project team
needs to be properly organized. While using email for formal communication and important
messages, it’s also essential to have a corporate messenger – Slack and Skype are the most popular
ones. And, if your team members use different tools to communicate, eliminate the pain of having
multiple messengers by integrating them.

Scheduling
When allocating resources and planning for the future, it’s crucial to know who on the team is
available for specific dates. Use scheduling software for that! Such tools as actiPLANS provide a
clear visual chart of absences for upcoming dates and allow to see all necessary details to team
members’ leaves and time off.

Time management
Knowing where your team’s time goes not just helps to manage current project risks. It also provides
valuable information for future planning and estimating. Time management tools, such as actiTIME,
help managers understand both individual time expenses and team’s results for any period.
Informative reports with time & cost summaries and notes to the logged time provide insights into
how time is used and what can be optimized.

Finance & Accounting

For any project manager and business owner, understanding the financial outcome of the projects is
crucial for analysis and future planning. Most used accounting tools – QuickBooks, Zoho,

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

Freshlook’s – help collect this information. For smaller project teams, other accounting solutions can
be reasonable. They require less investment, but also provide insights on project profitability, teams’
performance, and estimation accuracy.

Summary

Before starting work on any project, select the technique to be used and the tools that will help your
team speed up and automate work. This defines the entire workflow, management process, and
control procedures. By following the principles of the selected technique and using the functionality
of the project management tools, you’ll ensure successful project delivery in compliance with
requirements and deadlines.

To understand the research data, it is required to have the appropriate tools and the techniques. There
are some of the recommendations to get a meaningful conclusion:

In this, research the methods like qualitative and quantitative has been used to gather all the relevant
information for the research.

Part 4
Evaluation of the project
The different aspect of the project is given below:

 Initial inception
When the senior manager gave this project to me then I had no idea about that project at all. I
was asked to do research on some project in which AI can be used to solve the present
problem of the country. Before going in depth of the project first I have made different
schedule according to the project like budget plan, communication plan, time schedule, risk
plan, etc.
 Project activities
The success of the project depends upon how we implement that project. For my research
project I have visited many fields, read many research papers and conduct different survey.
Because of all this activity I was able to gain more knowledge and conduct my research
project successful.

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

 Project outcomes
We can say that the project is successful if we get the desired results. The result of my project
was to evaluate the use of AI in calculator and to verify the effectiveness of this project. I
conducted a survey in which most people believe that this idea will be useful for foreigners
and new people.[ CITATION htt \l 1033 ]

Lesson learned
From this project I have learned various thing which are given below:
 Problem solving
While conducting the research I have to face different problems regarding time, money and
resources. In order to solve the problem also I have to do research on problem solving
method and from that I have learned the various way of solving the problem like making risk
plan, budget plan, time schedule, etc. which helps in the successful of the research project.
 Research
In order to complete the result, I have to go through different research papers and interviews
with the professionals. From all those researches I came to know many things about the use
of artificial intelligence and also discover some more area in which artificial intelligence can
be used for the development purpose.

 Survey and research analysis

In order to ensure the successful of the research project I have conducted a survey program in
which I have collected the survey of 50 respondents and from that survey I came to know
different opinion of the people. I learned how to conduct survey and analyze the result of the
survey.

Strength and weakness of my performance

I am able to complete my research on time. During the research project, I had to face a few problems,
but I was able to handle all of them. When I implemented the project, my main advantage lies in my
experience. Since I am already working on other projects, I have some understanding of how to

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

conduct such research projects. The weakness of my project is that it is difficult for me to collect
more resources. I also encountered difficulties during the interview.

Continuous professional development

Organizations use CPD to monitor the overall performance of their employees. With CPD, you can
assess your performance and point out weaknesses and strengths. To evaluate my performance, I
created the CPD diagram shown in the table below.

So, from th is chart I came to know that my technical skills are weak which needs to be improved.
Beside the technical skills I think my other performance are good and there is some area in which it
will be better if I tries to improve that. So, in overall, I’m satisfied with my performance.

Evaluate the value of the project management process and use of quality research
to meet stated objectives and support own learning and performance

My research project is to explore the use of calculator voice-based system. The main objective of my
research project is to know about the accuracy and performance about calculator voice-based system
for handicap person. The main objective and aim of the project are to know about the performance
and accuracy by using calculator voice-based system. And also, to explore the use handicap person.
In order to meet the requirement, different kinds of research were conducted and analyzed. The

Subash Adhikari (HND/ Second Semester Sec-B)

6
Programming Managing a successful computing project 2019

research was conducted with the goal for handicap person who are blind. Different kinds of surveys,
interviews session was created in order to ensure the success of the project.

All of the project management processes I have done from start to finish are very important and are
very helpful for the proper implementation of research projects. From the beginning, I proposed a
design for the research project. Later, I developed the goals and objectives of the research project and
learned the details of the project. Next, I created a document about the project. Project size is
important to understand the cost, time, quality and resources of the project for detailed investigation.
Documentation on project scope is very useful and necessary for research projects. Next, in order to
check the progress of the project, I created a research project work structure and Gantt chart. The
breakdown structure helps you understand the activities performed in our research projects. The
breakdown structure helps you understand the tasks and plans that perform well.

Then, Gantt Chart helps you find the date and time of your research project more easily. Gantt charts
help you perform operations in a systematic manner. After that, we developed a risk action plan. A
risk action plan can help you understand the risks that arise in your research project. I have included
all risks in the risk action plan and in the decision making. Next, prepare the communication table. In
the table, we created a table with all the methods for presenting the format of the research project.
Then I did some research by apply qualitative and quantitative analysis to achieve project goals. I
reviewed the research project. Next, we analyzed these answers and answers.

And, I also reviewed and evaluated my work and performance evaluation templates as research
project researchers. We also confirmed the initial launch, project activities and project results. I also
studied the problems I received during the research project and the solutions I was helping with. I
also thank you for the many things I learned from the project. He also evaluated his work as a project
manager. I appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of my work. So, I have evaluated these values of
the project management process and use of quality research to meet stated objectives and I am
satisfied with my learning and performance. [ CITATION htt1 \l 1033 ]
