Sustainable strategies are built for long terms and it takes its own time in implementation of the

strategy and sees the results. It is no more a hygiene factor to make the strategy sustainable in all

the areas of business operation rather it is now mandatory to keep the strategy more and more

sustainable into each and every business operation side.

In order to make the strategy sustainable we need to have information on the external business

environment as well as the internal resources and organizational capability. The strategy is the

link between the organizational capability and resource and the external business environment.

Therefore the sustainable strategy can be created and implemented according to the information

available on the external business environment and the ability of the organization to make the

use of the external business environment to meet the organizational objectives. In order to

analyze the external business environment, we can use the PESTLE (Political, Economic, Social,

Technological, Legal, and Environmental) model to collect the information on the external

business environment. For internal organizational resource and capability assessment, we can

adopt the SWOT (Strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat) model.

Based on the information collected through the PESTLE and SWOT models of analysis we can

create a sustainable strategy that will be aligned with the organizational capability.
