TEXT:

Nowdays, “road accidents” is the subject which attracts the attention of everybody in
our country. Roads have became dangerous. Statistics show that the number of road victims
is increasing. Forty seven people died and 241 others were injured in 164 road accidents,
that occurred in one week in December 2016.
The main causes of car accidents are : speed , poor road surfaces , bad weather , and
the use of mobile phones while driving.

A new driving licence demerit point system is still not enforced in Algeria though it was

approved by the transport ministry in 2012.This driving licence is seen as an efficient step

to curb the alarming increase of deadly car accidents .
