“THE TELL TALE HEART”
The text illustrates an anonymous narrator, who is pointed out for being crazy, he
is obsessed by the sick eye that is called "vulture eye"), this was an old man with
whom he lived, he felt pressured and pursued by that eye in the course of history
he decides to kill him. It wraps it in its mattress until it causes death and its heart
stops beating, but in the middle of everything, the neighbors hear the screams and
it is when the police arrive and they begin to study the crime carefully and, after
being perpetrated, the corpse is torn apart and hidden under the tables of the floor
of the house, of his same room, he makes them continue to the room which had
remained as if nothing had happened, but the police in the presence of it the
murderer ends up giving himself away, imagining amazingly that the old man's
heart has started beating under the platform. He yells at the cops I was the one
who killed him I committed the crime
According to the illustration or text we do not know what is the relationship between
victim and murderer. It has been suggested that the old man represents the father
figure in the story, and that his "vulture's eye" may suggest some unconfessable
secret. The lack of details about the two main characters are in sharp contrast to
the detail with which the crime is recreated.
