LESSON PLAN

Unit 7

Text Type : Descriptive
Aspect : Speaking
Time Allocation : 2 X 40 minutes (1 x meeting)

I. CORE COMPETENCE
1. Understanding knowledge (factual, conceptual, and procedural) based on curiosity about science,
technology, art, culture related to phenomena and events seen in the eye.
2. Trying, processing, and presenting in the realm of concrete (using, unraveling, composing,
modifying, and making) and abstract domains (writing, reading, calculating, drawing and
composing) in accordance with what is learned in school and other sources in the same
perspective / theory.

II. BASIC COMPETENCIES


1. Understand the methods and facts needed to express routine activities (generic structure /
language feature descriptive text)
2. Convey facts with various expressions about routine activities through speaking activities.

VI. STEPS OF ACTIVITIES


a. Initial activity (5 ')
 Greetings and greetings
 Check the number of students / attendance
 Check student readiness in class
 Explain the topic of learning and learning objectives.
 Tell the assessment techniques & KKM that must be achieved
 The teacher repeats the previous lesson.

b. Core activities
Pre Activity (20 ')
 The teacher brings an English calendar to class and shows students and asks the names of
English days.
 Students practice saying days of the week.
 The teacher then asks students to prepare a blank sheet of paper, and write the names of the
days on the paper and the activities that occur or that they normally do on that day.
Example: Monday: school again, too much homework, I go swimming, etc.
 After students finish writing for all days, students are divided into groups of 4-6 students. In
groups, students share their lists with each other and look for similarities and differences
among other group members.

Main Activity (45 ')


 The teacher prepares a worksheet from Teacher's Resource p. 154 number of pairs of
students in the class.
 Each pair of students gets 1 set of activity cards and 1 set of frequency cards. 2 sets of cards
are placed face down.
 The teacher reminds students about how to form sentences using Simple Present Tense with
adverbs of frequency.
 Students then take turns taking 1 card from each set and making sentences from the card he
took. Sentences that can be made can be sentences that fit with the real situation or just
writing about themselves or one of the family members. E.g. My uncle plays football every
day. They must write each sentence they make on a piece of paper.
 After all the cards have been taken, the pairs of students join with other pairs of students and
read their sentences to each other. Students from other pairs have to guess whether the
sentence read is correct or just an essay. The person who can guess the most, wins.
 The teacher makes an assessment when students ask each other questions and answers.
 The teacher provides input on student performance and discusses things that are still not
understood by students.

 Students work on Grammar Practice from Teacher's Resource p. 155.

c. Final activity (5 ')


 The teacher concludes the material by asking a few questions
